21. Improving detection and diagnosis of bearing failures in wind turbine drivetrains
Sammanfattning : Wind power has in the last 20 years grown into one of the main sources of renewable energy in the world, with both the amount and size of the turbines increasing substantially. One of the major challenges for the wind power industry is the premature failures of especially the drivetrain components. LÄS MER
22. Application and Design Developments in Diffractive Optics
Sammanfattning : There has been strong development in the field of diffractive optics (DO) in research laboratories over the past two decades. Much progress has been made, both in design and analysis, as well as in manufacturing techniques. However, so far DO have only reached the market in small numbers. LÄS MER
23. Exploring the nonlinear rheological behavior and optical properties of cellulose nanocrystal suspensions
Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), with their versatile properties, offer immense potential in a range of applications, whether used independently or as sustainable reinforcements in polymers. They also find utility as renewable rheology modifiers in industries such as cosmetics, paints, and foods, where precise control over rheological characteristics is crucial for factors like product stability, prevention of splattering, and efficient processing and transportation. 24. Characterisation of Chromatography Media Aimed for Purification of Biomolecules
Sammanfattning : Chromatography media (resins) are very important for and widely used by the biopharma industry in large scale production of biopharmaceuticals, e.g. monoclonal antibodies. Today there are several hundred biopharmaceuticals released globally on the healthcare market. LÄS MER
25. Optimisation and Validation of Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast MRI Perfusion Measurements
Sammanfattning : The studies presented in this thesis concern the optimisation and evaluation of the dynamic susceptibility contrast magnetic resonance imaging (DSC-MRI) technique for the assessment of perfusion-related parameters of the brain, such as cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral blood volume (CBV) and mean transit time (MTT). Several methodological factors influence these measurements, for example, contrast-agent administration, arterial input function (AIF) registration, choice of deconvolution algorithm and the choice of pulse-sequence parameters.
