6. Electronic and Geometrical Structure of Phthalocyanines on Surfaces : An Electron Spectroscopy and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy Study
Sammanfattning : Core- and Valence Photoelectron Spectroscopy (PES), X-ray- and Ultraviolet-Visible Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS and UV-Vis), Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations are used to study the electronic and geometrical structure of a class of macro-cyclic molecules, Phthalocyanines (Pc), on surfaces. These molecules are widely studied due to their application in many different fields. LÄS MER
7. Modeling hybrid halide perovskites for solar cell applications : Simulations of electronic structure and X-ray spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Over the past 13 years, perovskites have become a very promising candidate in the search for cheap and effective photovoltaic materials for solar cells. Perovskite solar cell power conversion efficiency has increased from 3. LÄS MER
8. Synchrotron radiation study of free and adsorbed organic molecules
Sammanfattning : In this licentiate thesis, organic molecules, namely Cobalt Phthalocyanine (CoPc) and Biphenylene, have been studied by means of synchrotron radiation-based spectroscopic methods (Photoemission Spectroscopy (PES) and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) in combination with Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations.Paper I is a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of electronic structure of CoPc. 9. Excited States of Carotenoids and Their Functions in Light Harvesting
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis is focused on characterization of photophysical properties of lowest singlet excited states of carotenoids and their functions in the process of photosynthetic light harvesting. It is shown that the various light-harvesting complexes utilize different strategies to achieve efficient energy transfer from carotenoids to (bacterio)chlorophylls. LÄS MER
10. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals
Sammanfattning : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. LÄS MER
