1. Spray combustion with multiple-injection in modern engine conditions
Sammanfattning : Combustion of fuel in diesel engines emits substances harmful to the environment such as soot. These emissions can be reduced by either in-cylinder treatments or after-treatments. One of the common in-cylinder treatments is multiple-injection, which divides a single fuel injection to multiple smaller injections. LÄS MER
2. LES stochastic modelling of cavitation with its applications in OpenFOAM
Sammanfattning : Cavitation is a vaporization process that commonly happens in high-pressure injector nozzles nowadays. It has been shown by previous studies that cavitation has a significant influence on the subsequent atomization process, the quality of which would in turn heavily affect the process of combustion. 3. Ethnicizing Employability : Governing the Unemployed in Labour Market Projects in Sweden
Sammanfattning : The dissertation analyzes labour market projects co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) targeting unemployed migrants and ethnicized groups. The analysis is qualitative, discourse-oriented and based on Foucault’s concept of governmentality. LÄS MER
4. Large eddy simulation of dual-fuel combustion under ICE conditions
Sammanfattning : The present thesis aims at studying n-heptane/methanol dual-fuel combustion under internal combustion engine conditions and strives to improve the understanding of its ignition, combustion, and pollutant emission mechanisms. Large-eddy simulation (LES) coupled with Eulerian stochastic fields (ESF) approach is employed to simulate single/dual-fuel combustion in a constant-volume vessel to mimic the single/dual-fuel combustion in conventional/dual-fuel premixed engines. 5. A numerical study of mixing phenomena and reaction front propagation in partially premixed combustion engines
Sammanfattning : This work treats the modelling of PPC engine combustion through 3D computational fluid dynamics. In order to develop a cost-effective CFD model for the design and performance analysis of PPC engines it is important to first understand the multiple modes of combustion in PPC engines, e.g. LÄS MER
