  1. 11. Molecular dynamics studied by NMR relaxation experiments. Characterization of functional dynamics in the FK506 binding protein FKBP12

    Författare :Ulrika Brath; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nuclear magnetic resonance; NMR; FK506; protein dynamics; chemical exchange; spin relaxation; FKBP12; FKBP; isotope labeling;

    Sammanfattning : The presented thesis work is concerned with the study of molecular dynamics using liquid nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Spin relaxation dispersion experiments in the rotating frame (R1ρ) are employed to provide a detailed, atomic-resolution view of protein dynamics. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Structure, dynamics and reactivity of carbohydrates : NMR spectroscopic studies

    Författare :Jerk Rönnols; Göran Widmalm; Mikael Bols; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbohydrates; Conformation; NMR spectroscopy; Hydrogen bond; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is on the ring conformations of carbohydrate molecules; how the conformational equilibria and the rates of the associated interconversions are affected by the molecular constitution and their surroundings.The conformational equilibria of a group of amine linked pseudodisaccharides, designed as potential glycosidase inhibitors, comprising α-D-altrosides are described in Chapter 3. 3. 13. Theoretical Studies of G-Protein-Coupled Receptors

    Författare :Xianqiang Sun; Yaoquan Tu; Lennart Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biological Physics; Biologisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) contains the largest number of drug targets in the human body, with more than a quarter of the clinically used drugs targeting them. Because of the important roles GPCRs play in the human body, the mechanisms of activation of GPCRs or ligands binding to GPCRs have captivated much research interest since the discovery of GPCRs. 4. 14. Molecular recognition in the solid state : crystal structure studies of selected inclusion compounds of host molecules with roof-shaped skeleton

    Författare :Olga Helmle; Janusz Lipkowski; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; strukturkemi; Structural Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This survey presents the results of single-crystal X-ray diffraction investigations of nine selected organic heteromolecular complexes in terms of the molecular recognition concept. The host molecules of the studied inclusion compounds have the 9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoanthracene moiety in common, to which various sensor groups possessing both proton donor and acceptor abilities are attached. 5. 15. Signal Transduction in Photoreceptor Proteins : Insights From Time-Resolved X-ray Solution Scattering

    Författare :Oskar Berntsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Signal transduction; Photoreceptor; Time-resolved X-ray solution scattering; Protein dynamics; Phytochrome; Light-oxygen-voltage; Cryptochrome;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to sense and react to different light conditions is of great importance for many organisms on the face of the earth. Specialized proteins known as photoreceptor proteins provide bacteria, plants and animals with this ability. LÄS MER
