  1. 16. Atom Probe Field Ion Microscopy of Surface Zones, Coatings and Interfaces

    Författare :Anders Kvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ag GaAs; ohmiccontact; Au GaAs; Schottky contact; Cu3Au; APFIM; AuGe GaAs; gradient sintering; cemented carbides; CVD;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on developingmethods for high resolution microanalysis of coatings on a substrate, andsurface zones of a bulk sample using atom probe field ion microscopy,APFIM. The APFIM technique is described and some examples of its applications to semiconductors,cemented carbides and intermetallic compounds are given. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Analysis of plant growth regulating substances

    Författare :Barbro Andersson; Bo Jansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant regulators; phytohormones; pine; spruce; anther; abscisic acid; 3-indoleacetic acid; gibberellin Ag; N- 3-indoleacetyl -aspartic acid; dichlorophene; Amberlite XAD-7; identification; quantification; GC; HPLC; GC-MS; GC-MID; Hormoner;

    Sammanfattning : Natural plant growth regulators (phytohormones) are a group of organic compounds which, in very small amounts, act as regulators of physiological processes in plants.Methods were developed for the analysis of phytohormones in samples from Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris (L. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Endocannabinoid metabolism : the impact of inflammatory factors and pharmacological inhibitors

    Författare :Jessica Karlsson; Christopher Fowler; Stig Jacobsson; Jürg Gertsch; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; endocannabinoid; anandamide; 2-AG; fatty acid amide hydrolase; cyclooxygenase-2; prostate cancer; catabolism; inflammation; inflammatory factors;

    Sammanfattning : The endocannabinoid (eCB) system is an endogenous signaling system consisting of ligands (referred to as endocannabinoids, eCBs), receptors and metabolic enzymes. The eCB system is involved in homeostatic control of a variety of biological functions such as neuronal signaling, mood, appetite and pathological conditions such as pain, inflammation and tumour progression. 4. 19. Lean NOx reduction over silver-alumina from lab-scale to real conditions - Effects of reducing agent and catalyst composition

    Författare :Fredrik Gunnarsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ethanol; Ag Al2O3; Pt-doping; Lean NOx reduction; HC-SCR; low-temperature activity; catalyst ageing; biofuels;

    Sammanfattning : Lean NOx reduction over silver-alumina from lab-scale to real conditions Effects of reducing agent and catalyst compositionFREDRIK GUNNARSSONApplied surface chemistryDepartment of Chemical and Biological EngineeringChalmers University of TechnologyAbstractThe focus of this work is to increase the understanding of lean NOx reduction over silver-alumina catalysts using hydrocarbons as the reducing agent (HC-SCR), in particular by investigating the effect of silver loading, the role of platinum doping, and the effect of the type of reducing agent. In addition, the effects of aging and hydrothermal treatment on the catalytic activity and selectivity, and the influence of real engine exhausts were investigated, with special attention to the low-temperature activity. 5. 20. Dendritic cell maturation and death during Salmonella infection. Role of pro-inflammatory cytokines and MyD88

    Författare :Malin Sundquist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Dendritic cells; Costimulatory molecules; Bacterial infection; Pro-inflammatory cytokines; Toll-like receptors; Ag presentation; Cell death;

    Sammanfattning : The costimulatory molecules CD80 and CD86 are required for the ability of dendritic cells (DC) to induce both tolerance and immunity. This thesis investigates the control of CD80/CD86 upregulation in vivo on DC during Salmonella infection. LÄS MER
