  1. 1. Analysis of plant growth regulating substances

    Författare :Barbro Andersson; Bo Jansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant regulators; phytohormones; pine; spruce; anther; abscisic acid; 3-indoleacetic acid; gibberellin Ag; N- 3-indoleacetyl -aspartic acid; dichlorophene; Amberlite XAD-7; identification; quantification; GC; HPLC; GC-MS; GC-MID; Hormoner;

    Sammanfattning : Natural plant growth regulators (phytohormones) are a group of organic compounds which, in very small amounts, act as regulators of physiological processes in plants.Methods were developed for the analysis of phytohormones in samples from Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris (L. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry : Exploring the Limits of Different Sample Preparation Strategies

    Författare :Barbro Kollander; Jean Pettersson; Marit Andersson; Jonas Bergquist; Grethe Wibetoe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multi element analysis; trace element; ICP-AES; inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectromtery; water analysis; liver analysis; non digested samples; medical samples; biological samples; samples from biopsies and autopsies; mice organ; fast analysis; internal standard; preconcentration; matrix elimination; Cu; Zn; Mn; Co; Pb; Cd; Mg; Ca; Fe; Ni; Cr; S; P; K; Al; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes two different sample preparation strategies for inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), and their ability regarding multi element quantification in complex samples. Sensitivity, repeatability, reproducibility and accuracy were investigated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Chemical reactions in ventilation systems : Ozonolysis of monoterpenes

    Författare :Jerker Fick; Barbro Andersson; Charles Weschler; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Monoterpene; Ozone; OH Radical; Ozonolysis; Ventilation; Potassium Iodide; Experimental Design; Heat Exchanger; Miljökemi; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Chemicals in indoor air, either emitted from a source or from a reaction, have been suggested to cause ill health in buildings. However, no clear correlations between exposure and health effects have been made. In this thesis we studied the reaction between monoterpenes, a group of biogenic unsaturated C10 hydrocarbons, and ozone. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Determination of Antibiotics in the Swedish Environment with Emphasis on Sewage Treatment Plants

    Författare :Richard Lindberg; Barbro Andersson; Mats Tysklind; Magnus Johansson; Alfredo Alder; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; antibiotics; environment; sewage treatment plants; antibiotika; miljö; avloppsreningsverk; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Metoder har utvecklats för att kunna bestämma tolv antibiotikasubstanser, vanliga inom human medicin, i miljöprover. Fokus lades på trimetoprim samt substanser från följande grupper: fluorokinoloner, sulfonamider, penicilliner, cefalosporiner, nitroimidazoler, tetracykliner samt makrolider. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Levels and sources of organophosphorus flame retardants and plasticizers in indoor and outdoor environments

    Författare :Anneli Marklund; Peter Haglund; Barbro Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; organophosphate esters; OPs; human exposure; air; dust; sewage treatment plants; sludge; oil; snow; deposition; flame retardants; plasticizers; analysis; TCEP; TPP; TCPP; TBP; TBEP; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Global consumption of organophosphate esters (OPs), which are used as flame retardants and plasticizers, is rapidly increasing. Their use as additives in diverse applications poses a risk as they may be emitted from the products they are added to and be further transported in the environment. LÄS MER
