  1. 1. Extinction in Molecular Clouds : Case of Barnard 335

    Författare :Sven Olofsson; Göran Olofsson; Kalevi Mattila; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ISM; interstellar medium; extinction; molecular cloud; Astronomy; astronomi; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : The Bok globule B335 is a small molecular cloud in the solar neighbourhood near the galactic plane. The aim for this three-paper-study is to construct and analyze the extinction for this globule. The method we apply is to use the light from field stars behind the cloud in broadband filters ranging from UV to the mid-infrared. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Buildings; renovation; greenhouse gas emissions; district heating; energy efficiency; building environmental assessment tools; energy use; space heating; life cycle assessment; life cycle costing; payback; scenarios simulation; Byggnadsrenovering; växthusgasutsläpp; fjärrvärme; energieffektivitet; system för miljöcertifiering av byggnader; energianvändning; byggnadsuppvärmning; livscykelanalys; livscykelkostnader; återbetalning; scenariosimulering; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development; Reesbe företagsforskarskola;

    Sammanfattning : Energy use in the European Union is increasing. At the same time, it is estimated that by the year 2050 most of the EU population will be living in currently existing buildings. Some of these buildings are or will be in need of renovation, and they have identified a target to reduce overall energy use. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A methodology to assess impacts of energy efficient renovation : a Swedish case study

    Författare :Ricardo Ramirez Villegas; Ola Eriksson; Thomas Olofsson; Sofia Lidelöw; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Buildings; renovation; greenhouse gases emissions; district heating; energy efficiency; building environmental assessment tools; energy use; heating; Byggnader; renovering; växthusgasutsläpp; fjärrvärme; energieffektivisering; byggnadsmiljöprestanda verktyg; energianvändning; värme; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development; Reesbe företagsforskarskola;

    Sammanfattning : The European Union aims to reduce energy use and CO2-emissions by 40 % by the year 2030. The building sector has been identified as having a great potential to reduce emission of CO2 by increasing its energy efficiency. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Violence through the life cycle : A public health problem

    Författare :Niclas Olofsson; Kent Lindqvist; Ingela Danielsson; Staffan Jansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Violence has probably always been part of the human experience. Its impact can be seen, in various forms, in all parts of the world. In 1996, WHO:s Forty-Ninth World Health Assembly adopted a resolution , declaring violence a major and growing public health problem around the world. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On the Winds of Carbon Stars and the Origin of Carbon : A Theoretical Study

    Författare :Lars Mattsson; Susanne Höfner; Nils Bergvall; Kjell Olofsson; Martin Groenewegen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AGB stars; carbon stars; mass loss; stellar winds; circumstellar matter; cosmic dust; stellar evolution; nucleosynthesis; galactic chemical evolution; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik; Astronomy; Astronomi; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon is the basis for life, as we know it, but its origin is still largely unclear. Carbon-rich Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars (carbon stars) play an important rôle in the cosmic matter cycle and may contribute most of the carbon in the Galaxy. LÄS MER
