16. Densities and Sizes of Self-assembled Quantum Dots Grown by MOVPE
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on results concerning the formation of semiconductor self-assembled quantum dots. The quantum dots have been grown by metal organic vapour phase epitaxy in the Stranski-Krastanow growth mode. LÄS MER
17. Spectroscopy of semiconductor quantum dots
Sammanfattning : Quantum dots in the Si/Ge and InAs/GaAs materials systems are examined by means of photoluminescence. The spectroscopic study of Si/Ge quantum dots has demonstrated two different radiative recombination channels in the type II band alignment: The spatially direct transition inside the dot and the spatially indirect transition across the dot interface. 18. Structure evolution of spin-coated phase separated EC/HPC films
Sammanfattning : Porous phase-separated films made of ethylcellulose (EC) and hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) are commonly used for controlled drug release. The structure of these thin films is controlling the drug transport from the core to the surrounding liquid in the stomach or intestine. However, detailed understanding of the structure evolution is lacking. LÄS MER
19. Molecular Simulations of Microstructure, Thermodynamics, and Dynamics of Complex Liquid Mixtures at Interfaces and Confined Spaces
Sammanfattning : In modern chemical engineering, process intensification is realised by introducing a nano- or micro-interface. The introduction of such an interface breaks the homogeneous nature of the fluid and forms a unique nano- or micro-interfacial structure, which has a significant impact on the properties of fluids. 20. Phase Segregation and Microstructural Changes in Starch - Protein Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the study of the phase behavior of starch ? protein systems in relation to their microstructure and mechanical properties. To study the complexity of this multicomponent system, the main components of starch (amylopectin and amylose) were studied separately in presence of a protein (ß-lactoglobulin or patatin). LÄS MER
