  1. 1. Characterization of a new amino acid transport system in human epidermal Langerhans cells

    Författare :Niels Bendsöe; Lund Dermatologi och venereologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; amino acid transport; energy charge; epidermis; glycolysis; lactate; Langerhans cells; L-dopa; mitochondria; omeprazole; Dermatology; venereology; Dermatologi; venereologi;

    Sammanfattning : Based on the discovery of a new amino acid transport system in Langerhans cells (LC), various aspects concerning the L-dopa uptake mechanism into human epidermal LC and the energy metabolism of epidermis have been examined and subsequently characterised. The system lacks any characteristics of other described amino acid transport systems in other cell types. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Chemical and Clinical Studies of Isocyanate Contact Allergy with focus on diphenylmethane diisocyanate

    Författare :Malin Engfeldt; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereologi; Dermatologi; venereology; Dermatology; occupational; allergic contact dermatitis; polyurethane;

    Sammanfattning : Isocyanates are highly reactive compounds used in the production of polyurethane. Exposure to isocyanates is mainly associated with respiratory disorders, but may also result in allergic contact dermatitis. Reports describing contact allergy to isocyanates are few in number and it has been considered a rare phenomenon. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Methylisothiazolinones. Diagnosis and prevention of allergic contact dermatitis

    Författare :Birgitta Gruvberger; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereology; Dermatologi; Dermatology; Prevention.; Chemical burns; Occupational dermatoses; Allergic contact dermatitis; Guinea pig maximization test; Isolation identification of contact sensitizers; Inactivation; Methylisothiazolinones; Kathon® CG; venereologi;

    Sammanfattning : Preservatives are biologically active substances which are required in water-based products/systems to prevent growth of micro-organisms. Kathon® CG (K-CG), one of several preservatives based on 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolinon-3-one (MCI) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI) has been shown to be a common sensitizer in dermatitis patients. 4. 4. Clinical and experimental studies in nickel allergy

    Författare :Monica Hindsén; Dermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nickel absorption; Nickel; allergic contact dermatitis; patch test reactivity; flare-up reactions; oral nickel provocation; previous contact dermatitis; hand eczema; atopy; Dermatology; venereology; Dermatologi; venereologi;

    Sammanfattning : Kliniska och experimentella studier av nickelallergi Nickelallergi är vanligt, särskilt hos kvinnor. Nickelallergi leder ofta till periodiskt eller kroniskt eksem, främst på händerna. Dessa eksem kan vara svårläkta och leda till långa sjukskrivningsperioder. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Clinical and experimental studies in corticosteroid contact allergy

    Författare :Marléne Isaksson; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereologi; Dermatologi; venereology; Dermatology; inhalation; ROAT; mixes; hydrocortisone-17-butyrate; Corticosteroids; budesonide; tixocortol pivalate; dose-response relationship; clinical relevance; stability; allergic contact dermatitis;

    Sammanfattning : Corticosteroids are anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative substances that also can induce sensitization, mainly through skin contact. In a sensitized individual, it can be hard to disclose the contact allergy at patch testing because the anti-inflammatory effect may mask the allergic contact reaction. LÄS MER
