21. A Study of an Integrated Safety System for the Protection of Adult Pedestrians from Car Collisions
Sammanfattning : This study aimed to evaluate and improve the performance of a newly developed safety system intended to protect pedestrians during frontal car collisions. This system includes a remote sensor system, a contact sensor, a reversible bumper system (RBS), and a reversible hood (RH). LÄS MER
22. Predictive models for accidents on urban links - A focus on vulnerable road users
Sammanfattning : Much of earlier work on predictive models for accidents has been focused on rural traffic or urban intersections. This work has aimed at identifying and investigating possible improvements to predictive models for accidents on urban links. A special focus has been on the accidents of vulnerable road users. 23. On the Treatment of Flow in Traffic Safety Analysis, - a non-parametric approach applied on vulnerable road users
Sammanfattning : The treatment of flow in the area of traffic safety has a long tradition. The influence flow has on the number of accidents is, however, often considered so obvious that it tends to be trivial. In this thesis I can show that the relation between flow and accidents holds interesting information. LÄS MER
24. Post Impact Vehicle Path Control in Multiple Event Accidents
Sammanfattning : Recent statistics show that multiple-event accidents (MEAs) possess an increasing fraction of all vehicle traffic accidents. They are characterized by having at least one vehicle subjected to more than one harmful event, such as collision with another vehicle. MEAs now comprise approximately 25% of all passenger vehicle accidents. LÄS MER
25. Indicators for traffic safety assessment and prediction and their application in micro-simulation modelling : a study of urban and suburban intersections
Sammanfattning : In order to achieve sustainable long-term transport infrastructure development, there is a growing need for fast, reliable and effective methods to evaluate and predict the impact of traffic safety measures. Recognising this need, and the need for an active traffic safety approach, this thesis focuses on traffic safety assessment and prediction based on the use of safety indicators that measure the spatial and/or temporal proximity of safety critical events.
