1. Influence Of Road Feature Variables On Accident Rate
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this traffic safety investigation was to find critical road parameters affecting accident rate (AR). The secondary objective was to analyze any identified risk factors from a vehicle dynamics perspective. LÄS MER
2. On the Treatment of Flow in Traffic Safety Analysis, - a non-parametric approach applied on vulnerable road users
Sammanfattning : The treatment of flow in the area of traffic safety has a long tradition. The influence flow has on the number of accidents is, however, often considered so obvious that it tends to be trivial. In this thesis I can show that the relation between flow and accidents holds interesting information. LÄS MER
3. Informing Severe Accident Management Guidelines for a Pressurized Water Reactor with MELCOR Simulations
Sammanfattning : Severe accident management guidelines (SAMGs) play an important role in the hierarchical structure of the defense-in-depth (DiD) principle of reactor safety. Among different methods to verify and validate the effectiveness of SAMG on mitigating severe accident consequences, the approach of numerical simulations using best-estimate computer codes was extensively applied to evaluate the SAMG and SAM actions. 4. Post Impact Vehicle Path Control in Multiple Event Accidents
Sammanfattning : Recent statistics show that multiple-event accidents (MEAs) possess an increasing fraction of all vehicle traffic accidents. They are characterized by having at least one vehicle subjected to more than one harmful event, such as collision with another vehicle. MEAs now comprise approximately 25% of all passenger vehicle accidents. LÄS MER
5. Studies on the Gamma Radiation Environment in Sweden with Special Reference to 137Cs
Sammanfattning : Gamma radiation in the environment today mainly originates from naturally occurring radionuclides, but anthropogenic radionuclides, such as 137Cs, contribute in some areas. In order to assess population exposure in case of fallout from nuclear weapons (NWF) or accidents, knowledge and monitoring of external gamma radiation and radionuclide concentrations in the environment is important.
