  1. 1. Hydraulic Behaviour in an Activated Sludge Tank : From Tracer Test through Hydraulic Modelling to Full-Scale Implementation

    Författare :Robert Kjellstrand; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Hydraulic behaviour in a large denitrifying activated sludge tank, located at the Rya Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Göteborg Sweden, was investigated and optimized by using fullscale tracer test and hydraulic modelling. The Rya WWTP is a high loaded plant with a small footprint. Expansion of the site is limited due to several restrictions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ground Monitoring using Resistivity Measurements in Glaciated Terrains

    Författare :Jaana Aaltonen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Resistivity; DIrect Current; Monitoring; Groundwater; Contaminant; Tracer Test; Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : The most common method of monitoring and mapping groundwatercontaminants is to extract and analyse a number of groundwatersamples from wells in the investigation area. However, thereare a number of limitations with this type of point-wiseinvestigation, as it is hard to acquire an adequate picture ofa heterogeneous and anisotropic subsurface using a fewpoints. 3. 3. Mixing and Stagnation in Drinking Water Storage Tanks

    Författare :Ola Nordblom; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; storage tank; service reservoir; jet mixing; khappa - epsilon model; stagnation; tracer test; temperature measurement; thermal stratification; buoyant jets; CFD model;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to studies of the assessment of mixing conditions in drinking water storage tanks and analyses of parameters governing mixing rates and formation of stagnant zones. The work also contributes to a validation of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models of jet-forced mixing in storage tanks under neutral and thermally stratified conditions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Natural Ventilation and Air Infiltration in Large Single‑Zone Buildings : Measurements and Modelling with Reference to Historical Churches

    Författare :Abolfazl Hayati; Magnus Mattsson; Mats Sandberg; Jens Fransson; Guilherme Carrilho da Graça; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural ventilation; Airing; Air infiltration; Single-sided ventilation; Cross flow; Large single zones; Historical Churches; Model evaluation optimization; Field measurements; Wind tunnel; Indoor climate and Energy simulation; IDA-ICE; Tracer gas technique; Pressurization test.; Naturlig ventilation; Vädring; Luftinfiltration; Ensidig ventilation; Tvärdrag; Höga en-zonsbyggnader; Kulturhistoriska kyrkor; Modellutvärdering optimering; Fältmätningar; Vindtunnel; Inomhusklimat och energisimulering; IDA-ICE; Spårgas teknik; Trycksättningstest.; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : Natural ventilation is the dominating ventilation process in ancient buildings like churches, and also in most domestic buildings in Sweden and in the rest of the world. These buildings are naturally ventilated via air infiltration and airing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modeling of geohydrological processes in geological CO2 storage – with focus on residual trapping

    Författare :Kristina Rasmusson; Auli Niemi; Fritjof Fagerlund; Rainer Helmig; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; capillary trapping; CCS; characterization test; CO2; injection design; pore-network model; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Geological storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) in deep saline aquifers is one approach to mitigate release from large point sources to the atmosphere. Understanding of in-situ processes providing trapping is important to the development of realistic models and the planning of future storage projects. LÄS MER
