36. New vanadium oxido complexes with potential biological activity
Sammanfattning : Several biological aspects of vanadium are known and even though it has not been proven to be an essential metal for humans, it might have implication as a drug against the disease diabetes mellitus. However, undesired side effect as a result of the toxicity of vanadium must be reduced. LÄS MER
37. Chemosensitivity in Breast Cancer
Sammanfattning : Breast cancer mortality in Sweden is now in decline, thanks to early detection and the wide use of adjuvant endocrine therapy and chemotherapy. While hormone receptor status is predictive of response to endocrine treatment, there is no clinically useful predictive marker of a patient’s response to chemotherapy. LÄS MER
38. In vitro studies of cytostatic drugs and growth factors on leukemic and normal hematopoietic cells : based on in vivo intracellular pharmacokinetics
Sammanfattning : The aims were to develop, evaluate and apply in vitro methods for cytostatic drug sensitivity, based on intracellular concentrations found after in vivo infusions. The intracellular pharmacokinetics of anthraquinones and ara-C were compared during and after infusion to leukemic patients. Drug concentrations were evaluated with HPLC. LÄS MER
39. Bioanalytical studies of designer benzodiazepines
Sammanfattning : The fast appearance of benzodiazepine analogues, referred to as new psychoactive substance (NPS) or designer benzodiazepines, requires the continuous update of detection methods in order to keep up with the latest drugs on the recreational drug market. Moreover, as usually only limited information on toxicity and excretion patterns of these new drugs exists, this needs to be evaluated to report on adverse effects and to determine suitable targets for drug testing. 40. Particulate airborne impurities : express analysis and health effects
Sammanfattning : The cumulative effects of air pollutants are of principal concern in research on environmental protection in Sweden. Post-industrial society has imposed many limits on emitted air pollutants, yet the number of reports on the negative effects from them is increasing, largely due to human activity in the form of industrial emissions and increased traffic flows.
