6. Development and Construction of a 2.5-MeV Neutron Time-of-Flight Spectrometer Optimized for Rate (TOFOR)
Sammanfattning : A new neutron time-of-flight spectrometer optimized for high count rate (TOFOR) has been developed for the JET research tokamak. TOFOR will measure the energy distribution of neutrons emitted from the d+d → 3He+n fusion reactions in deuterium plasma. LÄS MER
7. Quantitative Bioanalysis : Liquid separations coupled to targeted mass spectrometric measurements of bioactive compounds
Sammanfattning : Performing quantitative analysis of targeted bioactive compounds in biological samples, such as blood plasma, cerebrospinal fluid or extracts from pig liver, put high demands on the ruggedness of the method acquiring the results. In addition to the complexity of the sample matrix, the bioactive compounds targeted for analysis usually have low levels of natural abundance, further increasing the demand on the analytical method sensitivity. 8. Multi-Electron Coincidence Studies of Atoms and Molecules
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns multi-ionization coincidence measurements of atoms and small molecules using a magnetic bottle time-of-flight (TOF) spectrometer designed for multi-electron coincidence studies. Also, a time-of-flight mass spectrometer has been used together with the TOF electron spectrometer for electron-ion coincidence measurements. LÄS MER
9. Reactivity of Metal Clusters with Diatomic Molecules
Sammanfattning : The reactivity of transition-metal clusters, in the approximate size range 10-60 atoms, with diatomic molecules has been investigated. A pulsed beam of neutral clusters is produced by a laser-vaporization source and passed through a low-pressure reaction cell containing the reactive gas. LÄS MER
10. Advanced Plasma Analyzer for Measurements in the Magnetosphere of Jupiter
Sammanfattning : The Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer is a planetary exploration mission that aims to study the moons of Jupiter in the planet’s vast magnetosphere. Among the various instruments on board is the Particle Environment Package (PEP), that is led by the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna. LÄS MER
