1. Laser Doppler Perfusion Monitoring and Imaging especially as regards testing for sympathetic nerve function
Sammanfattning : The operating principle of all laser Doppler methods is based on the fact that incident photons shift in wavelength when interacting with moving blood cells passing through the microvascular network. After photodetection and further signal processing, the recorded parameter can be considered an arbitrary measure of tissue blood flow, and this is referred to as ?perfusion?. LÄS MER
2. Neuropeptide Y Y1 receptor mechanisms in sympathetic vascular control
Sammanfattning : It was demonstrated that the Y1 receptor was the predominant vascular neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptor in pig kidney and hind limb as exogenous and endogenous NPY evoked vasoconstrictor responses that were almost or totally abolished by the selective non-peptide Y1 receptor antagonist, BIBP 3226. Furthermore, renal vasoconstriction was evoked by NPY and a peptide Y1 agonist, but not by a Y 2 agonist, and these responses were strongly reduced by another non-peptide Y, receptor antagonist, SR 120107A. 3. Immunofluorescence Investigation on Neuroendocrine Secretory Protein 55 (NESP55) in Nervous Tissues
Sammanfattning : The chromogranin family is a group of acidic, soluble, and heat-stable proteins widespread in various neuronal, neuroendocrine and endocrine tissues, where they are subcellullarly located in the secretory granules, participating in the formation of the granules. Extracellularly, chromogranins may act as protein precursors, proteolytically processed to various small bioactive peptides. LÄS MER
4. Splanchnic perfusion in cardiac surgery
Sammanfattning : Splanchnic ischemia in cardiac surgery is considered a risk factor in the development of the Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS), which is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the intensive care unit. Splanchnic ischemia/reperfusion may lead to an injury of the intestinal mucosa and induce a systemic inflammation (SIRS), which is proposed to precede MODS. LÄS MER
5. Blood Flow in Human Skeletal Muscle : The Effect of Adrenaline and the Influence of a Small Muscle Injury
Sammanfattning : A variety of vasoregulatory systems are involved in the complex control of blood flow inhuman skeletal muscle. The interaction between these systems where one system canoverride or modify the other makes blood flow regulation complicated. LÄS MER
