1. Pro- and anti-inflammatory regulation of β2 integrin signalling in human neutrophils
Sammanfattning : The body is under constant attack from pathogens trying to slip by our immune defence. If the barrier is breached, invading pathogens enter the tissues and cause inflammation. During this process neutrophils, constituting the first line of defence, leave the bloodstream and seek out and kill the invading pathogens. LÄS MER
2. Immunofluorescence Investigation on Neuroendocrine Secretory Protein 55 (NESP55) in Nervous Tissues
Sammanfattning : The chromogranin family is a group of acidic, soluble, and heat-stable proteins widespread in various neuronal, neuroendocrine and endocrine tissues, where they are subcellullarly located in the secretory granules, participating in the formation of the granules. Extracellularly, chromogranins may act as protein precursors, proteolytically processed to various small bioactive peptides. LÄS MER
3. Leukocytes and Coronary Artery Disease : Experimental and Clinical Studies
Sammanfattning : Tissue factor (TF) is the initiator of the coagulation cascade. Monocytes do not normally express TF, but can be induced to do so by certain stimuli. Aberrant TF expression is important in the thrombotic complications of bacterial sepsis, certain malignancies and coronary artery disease (CAD). LÄS MER
4. Active and Passive Unequally Spaced Reflect-Arrays and Elements of RF Integration Techniques
Sammanfattning : Using an array synthesis tool based on a modified differential evolution algorithm, it is shown that the position-phase synthesis exhibits improved pattern characteristics compared to both the phase only and position only synthesis of uniform amplitude antenna arrays. The design of an unequally spaced planar reflect-array and an active power combining reflect-array are presented. LÄS MER
5. Immune reactions against oxidatively modified low density lipoproteins in patients with atherosclrosis and healthy individuals
Sammanfattning : Immune-inflammatory mechanisms are involved in the development of atherosclerosis, and immune reactions against oxidatively modified LDL have received special interest. In the present study, we have investigated the effect of oxLDL on the stimulation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to increased DNA-synthesis and cytotoxicity and the nature and the prevalence of antibodies against oxLDL in healthy individuals and in patients with atherosclerosis.
