  1. 1. Retarded sorption in wood : experimental study, analyses and modeling

    Författare :Håkan Håkansson; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building construction; transient; non-linear model; swelling-shrinkage; latent heat effect; history-dependent sorption; anomalous sorption; non-Fickian; retarded sorption; measurements; moisture; wood; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Models of moisture flow processes in wood are normally based on a Fickian approach. In many instances, there are considerable discrepancies between modelling and experimental results. It is shown in this thesis that a major cause for these discrepancies is a so-called retarded sorption which is not accounted for in conventional theories. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Moisture-related properties of modified timber - an experimental study

    Författare :Hannah Epmeier; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Scots pine; material properties; chemical modification; building components; timber; bending creep;

    Sammanfattning : Wood has long traditions as a structural and building material. In those cases in which its natural features are not sufficient, chemical modification can eliminate some shortcomings. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multiphase continuum modeling of wood : A hybrid mixture theory approach

    Författare :Winston Mmari; Björn Johannesson; Lynn Schreyer; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Moisture transport; Coupled heat and moisture; Over-hygroscopic; Hybrid mixture theory; Mixture theory; Swelling; Hygro-mechanical; Non-linear elasticity; Large deformation; Phase field crack model; Anisotropic cracking; FEM; Numerical model; Norway spruce; Wood; Porous media; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Wood has been used as a construction material for a very long time. The development of efficient industrial production processes of wood has expanded the use of the material with the introduction of new products, such as engineered wood products. LÄS MER
