16. The three-dimensional normal-distributions transform : an efficient representation for registration, surface analysis, and loop detection
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with three-dimensional (3D) sensing and 3D scan representation. Three-dimensional records are important tools in several disciplines; such as medical imaging, archaeology, and mobile robotics. LÄS MER
17. Affibody Molecules for PET Imaging
Sammanfattning : Optimization of Affibody molecules would allow for high contrast imaging of cancer associated surface receptors using molecular imaging. The primary aim of the thesis was to develop Affibody-based PET imaging agents to provide the highest possible sensitivity of RTK detection in vivo. LÄS MER
18. Multimodal and multiscale characterization of bone and bone interfaces in health and disease
Sammanfattning : Seeing is believing. Our understanding of phenomena often involves their direct observation. However, bone architecture is challenging to visualize given its multi-level hierarchical organization. LÄS MER
19. Drugs and polymers in dissolving solid dispersions : NMR imaging and spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : The number of poorly water-soluble drug substances in the pharmaceutical pipeline is increasing, and thereby also the need to design effective drug delivery systems providing high bioavailability. One favourable formulation approach is preparation of solid dispersions, where dispersing a poorly water-soluble drug in a water-soluble polymer matrix improves the dissolution behaviour and the bioavailability of the drug. 20. Direct observation of biomolecule adsorption and spatial distribution of functional groups in chromatographic adsorbent particles
Sammanfattning : Confocal microscopy has been used as a tool for studying adsorption of biomolecules to individual chromatographic adsorbent particles. By coupling a fluorescent dye to protein molecules, their penetration into single adsorbent particles could be observed visually at different times during batch uptake. LÄS MER
