    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis was to study post-resuscitation care of cardiac arrest (CA) patients with a focus on therapeutic hypothermia treatment, outcomes up to six months post-CA and relatives’ experiences during the hospital stay.In Paper I, the aim was to asses effectiveness of hypothermia treatment with cold, 4°C, intravenous crystalloid infusion combined with ice packs.     Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the Chandler loop, which makes it possible to conduct studies in vitro of molecular and cellular interactions between whole blood and stents. It was possible to monitor activation and inhibition of the cascades systems, leukocytes and platelets by combining different platelet inhibitors and heparin coating of stents. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, quantum chemical calculations are undertaken mostly in order to interpret experimental results, but also to learn about computational techniques, their performance and their limitations. In paper I, the ionization-cleavage process of alkenes is investigated and two pathways are followed, one of initial cleavage and subsequent ionization and on the opposite, the other one of initial ionization and subsequent cleavage.
