6. Novel organic sensitizers and hole transport materials for efficient solid-state photovoltaic devices
Sammanfattning : State-of-art solid-state photovoltaic devices, such as solid-state dye sensitized solar cells (ssDSSCs) and perovskite solar cells have attracted significant attention due to their high efficiency and potential low-cost manufacture. However, there are still challenges that limit the application up-scaling.. LÄS MER
7. Optical Characterization and Optimization of Display Components : Some Applications to Liquid-Crystal-Based and Electrochromics-Based Devices
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is focused on theoretical and experimental studies of optical properties of materials and multilayer structures composing liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and electrochromic (EC) devices. By applying spectroscopic ellipsometry, we have determined the optical constants of thin films of electrochromic tungsten oxide (WOx) and nickel oxide (NiOy), the films’ thickness and roughness. 8. Charge Transport in Transition Metal Oxide Thin Films and Electrochromic Devices
Sammanfattning : Thin film devices for windows, mirrors, space applications and other purposes, have become an essential part of modern technology. A great advantage with a thin film device is the small amount of material used and the compact volume of the device. LÄS MER
9. Power Electronics for Mitigation of Voltage Sags and Improved Control of AC Power Systems
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with the application of compensators andswitches based on power electronics in AC transmission anddistribution systems. The objective of the studieddevices/equipment is the power flow and voltage control intransmission systems and the mitigation of voltage sags andmomentary interruptions to critical loads in distributionsystems. 10. Stabilisation of electron dense transition metal hydrogen complexes in the solid state
Sammanfattning : The formation, structure and bonding in the solid state homoleptic palladium-hydrogen complexes; K2[PdIIH4], Li2[Pd0H2], Na2[Pd0H2], NaBa[Pd0H3], Sr2[Pd0H4] and Ba2[Pd0H4]have been studied by means of X-ray and neutron diffraction, infrared-, Raman-, and inelastic neutron spectroscopy. The results from these investigations combined with theoretical calculations have identified a new stabilisation model for electron dense transition metal hydrogen complexes which is described in this thesis.
