  1. 31. Preparation and Evaluation of New Nanoporous Silica Materials for Molecular Filtration and for Core Materials in Vacuum Insulation Panels

    Författare :Ebenezer Twumasi Afriyie; Folke Björk; Christer Sjöström; Kjartan Gudmundsson; Per Jostein Hovde; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adsorbents; activated carbon; MgCa-silica; carbon-silica composite; characterization; porous parameters; molecular filtration; thermal conductivity; thermal insulation;

    Sammanfattning : Nanoporous materials for gas purification and thermal insulation have been studied and developed for application in many areas. It is known that a single adsorbent may not adequately control multiple contaminants. Further the utilization of nanoporous material as thermal insulator in building applications is limited due to high cost. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Mass spectrometry in peptide and tumor marker analysis

    Författare :Ann-Charlotte Bergman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Integration of preparative protein and peptide separations with analytical techniques, in particular mass spectrometry (MS), is important. This thesis describes preparation via capillary electrophoresis and two-dimensional (2-D) gel electrophoresis for identification and structure determination of polypeptides. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Failure mechanisms in APS and SPS thermal barrier coatings during cyclic oxidation and hot corrosion

    Författare :Krisha Praveen Jonnalagadda; Ru Lin Peng; Xin-Hai Li; Robert Eriksson; Shrikant Joshi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) are advanced material systems that are being used in the hot sections of gas turbines such as combustor, turbine blades, and vanes. The top ceramic coating in TBCs provides insulation against the hot gases and the intermediate metallic bond coat provides oxidation and corrosion resistance to the underlying turbine components. 4. 34. Evaluation of a Miniaturized Rotating Disk Apparatus for In Vitro Dissolution Rate Measurements in Aqueous Media : Correlation of In Vitro Dissolution Rate with Apparent Solubility

    Författare :Anita M. Persson; Curt Pettersson; Anders Sokolowski; Anders Karlsson; Alex Avdeef; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; analytical methods; HPLC high-performance liquid chromatography ; miniaturization; in vitro dissolution rate; apparent solubility; physicochemical properties; dissolution media; correlation study; chemometrics; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to evaluate a newly designed and constructed miniaturized rotating disk apparatus for in vitro dissolution rate measurements of different drug substances from all of the classes in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS). The new equipment is based on a low volume flow-through cell of Plexiglas, a gold plated magnetic bar and a special designed press. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Material Properties of Bulk Hydrophobic Concrete in a Nordic Environment

    Författare :Patrick Rogers; Johan Silfwerbrand; Tang Luping; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; alkyl alkoxysilane; capillary suction; chloride ingress; concrete; hydrophobic agents; triacylglycerides; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Sammanfattning : Concrete in its unaltered form allows the mass transfer of fluids into and out of its microstructure. These fluids can contain detrimental solutes which change the chemistry of the cement paste and/or the corrosion properties of the reinforcement bars, most noticeably hydrogen carbonates (HCO3-), oxygen (O2) and chloride ions (Cl-).
