  1. 21. Molecular Interaction of Thin Film Photosensitive Organic Dyes on TiO2 Surfaces

    Författare :Shun Yu; Mats Göthelid; Chassé Thomas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photoelectron spectroscopy; X-ray absorption spectroscopy; organic semiconductor; oxides; adsorption; dye sensitization; electronic structure; charge transfer;

    Sammanfattning : The photosensitive molecule adsorption on titanium dioxide (TiO2) forms the so-called “dye sensitized TiO2” system, a typical organic/oxide heterojunction, which is of great interest in catalysis and energy applications, e.g. dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Traditionally, the transition metal complex dyes are the focus of the study. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Characterization of Surfaces Relevant to Nanotechnology

    Författare :Emelie Hilner; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanotechnology; surface science; semiconductors; scanning tunneling microscopy; spectroscopic photoemission and low energy electron microscopy; low energy electron diffraction;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis investigations of the structure and dynamics of semiconductor surfaces relevant for the synthesis of nanostructures are presented. The studies were performed using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), and Spectroscopic PhotoEmission and Low Energy Electron Microcopy (SPELEEM). LÄS MER

  4. 24. Atomic and Electronic Structure of III-V Semiconductor Surfaces

    Författare :Örjan Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; semiconductor; GaAs; photoelectron; scanning tunneling microscopy; valence band; core level; reconstruction; InAs; surface; InSb;

    Sammanfattning : The atomic and electronic structure of clean and Cs-perturbed III-V semiconductors was studied by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), surface core level spectroscopy (SCLS), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The work can be divided into three parts, dealing with low-index sur-faces, high-index surfaces, and special features of InAs. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Structural Properties of Palladium-Manganese Alloys

    Författare :Alexander J Jaworowski; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transition metal; structure; growth; adsorption; core level photoemission. scanning tunneling microscopy; fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy; Manganese; Palladium; Rhodium; Molybdenum; NO; CO; alloy; O; Physics; Fysik; Semiconductory physics; Halvledarfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Jaworowski;

    Sammanfattning : Structural properties of adsorbed overlayers on well-defined single crystals and of Palladium-Manganese surface alloys formed on Pd(100) have been investigated using synchrotron-based photoemission, scanning tunneling microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The experimental valence electronic structure of PdMn systems on Pd(100) is compared to density functional calculations (DFT). LÄS MER
