  1. 6. Resonant States in Negative Ions

    Författare :Nicklas Brandefelt; John S. Briggs; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molekylfysik; Atomfysik; Kärnfysik; Partikelfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Resonant states are multiply excited states in atoms and ions that have enough energy to decay by emitting an electron. The ability to emit an electron and the strong electron correlation (which is extra strong in negative ions) makes these states both interesting and challenging from a theoretical point of view. 2. 7. Four-Body Treatment of the Hydrogen-Antihydrogen System

    Författare :Henrik Stegeby; Piotr Froelich; Alejandro Saenz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antimatter; antihydrogen; four-body system; Adiabatic approximation; Born-Oppenheimer; elastic scattering; stabilization method; resonance states; coupled arrangement channels; coupled rearrangement channels; Gaussian Expansion Method; Antimateria; antiväte; fyrkroppars system; adiabatisk approximation; stabilisationsmetoden; resonanstillstånd; spridningstillstånd; kopplade arrangemangskanaler; Quantum Chemistry; Kvantkemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a nonadiabatic (4-body) description of the hydrogen-antihydrogen system at a nonrelativistic level. The properties of the system, the rearrangement processes and the possible existence of resonance states are investigated by using a variational method for coupled arrangement channels, the Gaussian Expansion Method, and the stabilization method. 3. 8. Excited States in Negative Ions

    Författare :Johan Rohlén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Negative Ions; Photodetachment; Atomic Physics; Experimental Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers experimental studies of atomic negative ions with the main goal of increasing our fundamental understanding of these fragile quantum systems. Comparisons of measurements and calculations have been used to increase our understanding of these highly correlated, yet simple, systems. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Surface gravity waves in the world’s oceans contain a renewable source of free power on the order of terawatts that has to this date not been commercially utilized. The division of Electricity at Uppsala University is developing a technology to harvest this energy. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Dynamics of Photoinduced Processes in Dye-Sensitized Nanocrystalline Semiconductor Films--Reactions in the Photoactive Part of the Grätzel Solar Cell

    Författare :Gabor Benko; Kemisk fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; magnetiska och optiska ; egenskaper elektriska; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; spectroscopy; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; Kemi; Condensed matter:electronic structure; electrical; femtosecond spectroscopy; solar cells; Chemistry; excited states; photoinduced electron transfer; transition metal complexes; nanocrystalline titanium dioxide; dye sensitization; porous semiconductor film; magnetic and optical properties;

    Sammanfattning : The key materials used to convert solar energy into electricity in the Grätzel-type solar cells are dye molecules and titanium dioxide particles attached to each other. The former are similar to those in common products like purple pigments in blueberry juice, while the latter are like sunscreen, white paint, or toothpaste. LÄS MER
