  1. 1. Breast cancer : Multifocality, heterogeneity, and related genetic signatures

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Gyula Pekar; Dumanski Jan; Sapino Anna; [2016]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; breast; breast cancer multifocality; molecular phenotypes; intertumoral heterogeneity; biobanking; gene copy number aberrations;

    Sammanfattning : Breast carcinoma often exhibits a complex subgross morphology and may occupy a large volume of the breast tissue and show unifocal, multifocal or diffuse growth patterns. Expression of estrogen- and progesterone receptors, HER2 overexpression, tumor grade, and proliferative activity allows us to classify breast carcinoma into molecular subgroups (Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-type, triple negative, and basal-like). 2. 2. High-risk breast cancer: From biology to personalized therapeutic strategies

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Toshima Z Parris; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; breast cancer; outcome prediction; molecular biomarker; 8p11-p12 amplification;

    Sammanfattning : Adjuvant treatment regimens for breast cancer are primarily based on patient- and tumor-related factors, e.g. patient menopausal status, tumor stage and histological grade, and the status of molecular tumor markers (HER2/neu and the estrogen receptor). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molecular Analysis of Breast Cancer Transcriptomes, Genomes, and Circulating Tumor DNA

    Detta är en avhandling från Division of Oncology and Pathology

    Författare :Eleonor Olsson; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer stem cells; RNA splicing; breast cancer; mutations; circulating tumor DNA; early detection of recurrent breast cancer; sequencing;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is a very heterogeneous disease in terms of clinical characteristics, genetic aberrations and prognosis. In Paper I, we focused on the CD44 molecule that often is aberrantly expressed in breast cancer and is widely used as a marker for cancer stem cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Wnt-5a Signalling in Human Mammary Cells: Implications for the Development of Breast Cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Oncology, Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Marzieh Jönsson; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oncology; Cytology; signalling; breast cancer; Wnt-5a; mammary epithelial cells; cancer; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology;

    Sammanfattning : The Wnt-5a gene encodes a secreted protein that regulates several normal processes in embryonic and adult tissues by as yet unknown mechanisms. Expression of Wnt-5a protein does not cause cell transformation, but it instead counteracts the effects induced by transforming Wnts. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Integrative genomic and survival analysis of breast tumors

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Författare :Szilard Nemes; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; biostatistics; cancer; survival analysis; gemonics; DNA copy number aberrations; messenger RNA;

    Sammanfattning : With the continued accumulation of genomic data at ever increasing resolution the challenge ahead lies in reading out meaningful clinical/biological information form the data that can contribute to a better understanding of the cancerous process. The need for novel approaches, new statistical methods is therefore strong. LÄS MER
