21. From Responsive Interfaces to Honeycomb Membranes by Controlled Radical Polymerisation
Sammanfattning : In this study, surface modification of both organic and inorganic substrates (in terms of cellulose and silica nanoparticles, respectively) has been explored using surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerisation (ATRP). The desire to modify bio-based materials to fit into new application areas and the need for bio-based materials with improved material properties is steadily increasing due to environmental concern. 22. Novel methods to synthesize aliphatic polyesters of vivid architectures
Sammanfattning : Cross-linked films of ε-caprolactone (CL) and 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO) having various mole fractions of monomers and different cross-link densities were prepared using 2,2’-bis-(-caprolactone-4-yl) propane (BCP) as cross-linking agent and Sn(Oct)2 as catalyst. Reaction parameters were examined to optimize the film-forming conditions. LÄS MER
23. Bioresorbable copolymers with tailored properies : innovative materials för soft tissuel engineering
Sammanfattning : The emerging need for new synthetic materials for soft tissue engineering applications encourages the search for innovative polymers having interesting properties. Ring-opening polymerization of lactones and lactides initiated by tin alkoxides has received particular attention due to the versatility of the method for building up well-defined biodegradable structures. 24. Structure and Mechanical/Transport properties of Single and Multilayer Polyethylene-based Materials
Sammanfattning : The current study discusses the structure, mechanical and transport properties of polyethylene-based materials into two parts. The first part deals with the migration and chemical depletion of active substance such as insecticides from moulded polyethylene sheets. LÄS MER
25. Functional composite coatings containing conducting polymers
Sammanfattning : Organic coatings are widely used to lower the corrosion rate of metallic structures. However, penetration of water, oxygen and corrosive ions through pores present in the coating results in corrosion initiation and propagation once these species reach the metal substrate. LÄS MER
