11. Particulate Formation in Gasoline Direct Injection Engines
Sammanfattning : Gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines are facing a great challenge because of the need to comply with increasingly stringent emission regulations while improving fuel economy. GDI engines are popularly known for their high fuel efficiency (by the standards of gasoline engines) and low emissions, enabling higher compression ratios and thus increased volumetric efficiency. 12. Particulate Formation in GDI Engines
Sammanfattning : The need to comply with stringent emission regulations while improving fuel economy and reducing criteria pollutant emissions from transportation presents a major challenge in the design of gasoline Direct Injection (DI) engines because of the adverse effects of ultrafine Particulate Number (PN) emissions on human health and other environmental concerns. With upcoming advances in vehicle electrification, it may be the case that electric vehicles completely replace all current vehicles powered by internal combustion engines ensuring zero emissions. 13. Particle Characterization in the Exhaust Devices of Direct Injection Engines
Sammanfattning : Minimizing pollutants are of utmost importance to ensure sustainability in transportation. Particle emissions from internal combustion engines are especially harmful to human health, while also contributing to global warming. LÄS MER
14. Alexithymia : A Psychological Analysis Based on Clinical and Healthy Individuals
Sammanfattning : Individuals with an alexithymic personality trait have been described as having not only difficulties in expressing and differentiating emotions, but also as having characteristics similar to psychotic individuals. Further, the alexithymic trait is believed to cause the individual psychosomatic disorders. LÄS MER
15. Perinatal nicotine exposure. Effects on the defense against hypoxia in lambs
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study was to evaluate whether perinatal nicotine exposure could impair cardiorespiratory defense mechanisms to hypoxia. The rationale for this approach is that exposure to tobacco smoke, particularly before birth, is a risk factor for the sudden infant death syndrome as well as for obstructive airway disease in childhood.
