    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the dynamical processes in atoms and small molecules initiated by the absorption of ultrashort, coherent light pulses. The studied phenomena takeplace on the femtosecond (1 fs = 10−15 s) and attosecond (1 as = 10−18 s) timescales and critically depend on the properties of the light fields that drive them. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The Cassini mission provided unprecedented insights into the Kronian system and revealed many unexpected phenomena relating to dusty plasma environments around Saturn and its rings. Almost 13 years after its arrival, Cassini began a series of 22 orbits which brought it between Saturn's upper atmosphere and the innermost D ring, culminating in a final plunge into Saturn's ionosphere.     Sammanfattning : This thesis summarises experimental results on the molecular spectroscopy of gas phase molecules excited by synchrotron radiation in the VUV and soft X-ray regions. We have used three different detection techniques, photon induced fluorescence spectroscopy, photoionisation mass spectroscopy and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy to study molecular deuterium, hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, methanol, pyridine, pyridazine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, s-triazine, and 2-deoxy-D-ribose, the last one also known as the DNA sugar.
