  1. 6. Mechanistic-Empirical Modeling of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Concrete Layers

    Författare :Erik Oscarsson; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; permanent deformation; modeling; Mechanistic-Empirical; rutting; asphalt concrete; full-scale pavements;

    Sammanfattning : Three mechanistic-empirical permanent deformation models were evaluated under Swedish conditions with respect to traffic, climate and materials using accelerated pavement testing and long-term pavement performance studies. The mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide (M E PDG), the incremental-recursive mechanistic-empirical CalME model (CalME), and the PErmanent Deformation of asphalt concrete layer for ROads (PEDRO) model generally showed both useful features and limitations. 2. 7. Validation of heavy vehicle loading responses and temperature predictions in flexible pavements using field data

    Författare :Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Abubeker Ahmed; Denis Jelagin; Inge Hoff; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible pavements; Long heavy vehicles; Instrumented test section; Field validation; Non-destructive testing; Temperature modelling; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Tung trafikbelastning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Fältvalidering; Oförstörande provning; Termisk modellering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : It is well established that both traffic-related loading and environmental conditions influence the structural behaviour of pavements. Pavement design methods aim to consider the effect of traffic loading and environmental variables on pavement structure, foresee their changes during the lifetime of the pavement and predict the resulting distresses and pavement life. 3. 8. Reliability-based Design Procedure for Flexible Pavements

    Författare :Yared Hailegiorgis Dinegdae; Björn Birgisson; Nicole Kringos; Nils Rydén; William Buttlar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Top-Down fatigue cracking; asphalt mixture morphology; fracture mechanics; response surface; reliability analysis; load resistance factor design; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Load induced top-down fatigue cracking has been recognized recently as a major distress phenomenon in asphalt pavements. This failure mode has been observed in many parts of the world, and in some regions, it was found to be more prevalent and a primary cause of pavements failure. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Application of the SASW-technique in geotechnical in-situ testing

    Författare :Mats Svensson; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; teknisk geologi; Hydrogeologi; Spectral Analysis of Surface Waves; shear modulus; SASW; multichannel; inversion; Gmax; teknisk geografi; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; geographical and geological engineering; Hydrogeology; Civil engineering; hydraulic engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : With the main aim to test the applicability of the surface wave seismic technique Spectral Analysis of Surface Waves (SASW), used for determination of the shear stiffness (shear modulus - Gmax), four areas of applications have been studied. The four areas have been sites with natural geological conditions, sites where non destructive testing is necessary, pavement testing and multichannel testing. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Air-coupled microphone measurements of guided waves in concrete plates

    Författare :Henrik Bjurström; Nils Rydén; Björn Birgisson; Tadeusz Stepinski; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Non-destructive testing; Lamb waves; surface waves; air-coupled microphones; non-contact measurements;

    Sammanfattning : Quality control and quality assurance of pavements is today primarily based on core samples. Air void content and pavement thickness are parameters that are evaluated. However, no parameter connected to the stiffness is evaluated. LÄS MER
