26. Radar Signatures of Auroral Plasma Instability
Sammanfattning : Incoherent scatter radars are powerful ground based instruments for ionospheric measurements. By analysis of the Doppler shifted backscatter spectrum, containing the signature of electrostatic plasma waves, plasma bulk properties are estimated. LÄS MER
27. Quantitative Electron Microscopy Studies of Metal Nanoparticle Catalysts: Nanostructure, Support Interaction and Ageing Effects
Sammanfattning : Heterogeneous catalysis plays a major role in modern society, for example in chemical production, sustainable energy production and emission control technologies. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) supported on oxide materials are frequent catalytic systems in this field. LÄS MER
28. Charged particle multiplicities in p̄p reactions 540 GeV C.M. energy
Sammanfattning : Antiproton-proton reactions at a centre of mass energy of 540 GeV are studied. The results were obtained using the UA5 detector installed at the CERN SPS Collider. The pseudorapidity (-n) distribution for non single-diffractive events is presented and compared to ISR data. LÄS MER
29. Optimization of Equipment for Tomographic Measurements of Void Distributions using Fast Neutrons
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis describes a novel nondestructive measuring technique for determiningspatial distributions of two-phase water flows. In Boiling Water Reactors, which compose themajority of the world's commercial nuclear reactors, this so called void distribution is of importance for safe operation. LÄS MER
30. Studies of aerosol particle formation from various sources using ion and electron beam analytical techniques
Sammanfattning : The thesis presents the results of studies of aerosol particle formation using ion and electron beam analytical techniques. The sources of aerosol particle formation studied are the following: 1. production of primary aerosol particles in the high Arctic region during summers 2. LÄS MER
