31. Study of Electrochemical Behaviour and Corrosion Resistance of Materials for Pacemaker Lead Applications
Sammanfattning : For patients suffering bradycardia, i.e., too slow heart rhythm, the common treatment is having a pacemaker implanted. The pacemaker system consists of the pacemaker and a pacing lead. LÄS MER
32. Fibromyalgia and self-regulatory patterns : development, maintenance or recovery in women
Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall aim of this thesis was to elucidate psychological processes and development, maintenance or recovery related to fibromyalgia based on in depth interviews. In a next step women with fibromyalgia, women without long-lasting pain and women with long-lasting pain were compared using psychometric instruments selected or developed based on qualitative results. 33. Kamrateffekter i skolundervisning – En ramfaktorteoretisk analys
Sammanfattning : In the educational literature on peer effects, attention has been brought to the fact that the mechanisms creating peer effects are still to a large extent hidden in obscurity. The hypothesis in this study is that the Frame Factor Theory can be used to explain these mechanisms. LÄS MER
34. Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation : effects on rhythm, symptoms and health-related quality of life
Sammanfattning : Background: AF ablation is an increasingly used treatment in patients with AF to improve patient-reported outcomes (PROs). Atrioventricular junction ablation (AVJA) is a palliative treatment option in therapy refractory AF that improves PROs but renders the patient pacemaker dependent. LÄS MER
35. Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Optimization : Comparison and Evaluation of Non-invasive Methods
Sammanfattning : The general purpose of this thesis was to investigate new cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) optimization techniques and to assess their reliability when compared to invasive measurements of left ventricular contractility (LV dP/dtmax).We first assessed whether cardiac output (CO) measured by trans-thoracic impedance cardiography could correctly identify the optimal interventricular (VV) pacing interval while using invasive measurements of LV dP/dtmax as reference.
