1. High temperature corrosion in a biomass-fired power boiler : Reducing furnace wall corrosion in a waste wood-fired power plant with advanced steam data
Sammanfattning : The use of waste (or recycled) wood as a fuel in heat and power stations is becoming more widespread in Sweden (and Europe), because it is CO2 neutral with a lower cost than forest fuel. However, it is a heterogeneous fuel with a high amount of chlorine, alkali and heavy metals which causes more corrosion than fossil fuels or forest fuel. LÄS MER
2. Corrosion of Ferritic Stainless Steels Used in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are energy conversion systems with clean emissions (depending on the fuel used) and high electrical efficiencies, which could potentially replace conventional conversion systems such as combustion engines. However, other issues, such as high costs and limited lifetime, must be resolved before widespread commercialization of SOFCs can be achieved. LÄS MER
3. Corrosion of ferritic stainless steels used in solid oxide fuel cells - Investigation of novel coatings in single- and dual-atmosphere conditions
Sammanfattning : Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are systems that convert chemical energy into electrical energy. Their high electrical efficiency and clean emissions (when H2 is used as fuel) make them a strong candidate for replacing conventional conversion systems, such as combustion engines. LÄS MER
4. Investigations of the corrosion resistances of magnetron sputtered multicomponent materials : A study on high entropy alloys, high entropy sublattice ceramics, and metallic glasses
Sammanfattning : The corrosion resistances of sputter deposited AlCrNbYZrN, CrNbTiTaWC and TaNiSiC alloys were assessed in acidic and alkaline environments. Compositionally complex alloying strategies, and whether they produced coatings with superior corrosion resistances, were explored. LÄS MER
5. High Temperature Corrosion Behavior in Biomass- and Waste-Fired Boilers - Insights into catastrophic corrosion and corrosion mitigation techniques
Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide is contributing to the greenhouse effect and a significant part comes from the use of fossil fuels. Utilizing more renewable fuels is therefore a solution to decrease the net release of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. LÄS MER
