  1. 1. Neutron Spectrometry Techniques for Fusion Plasmas : Instrumentation and Performance

    Författare :Erik Andersson Sundén; Göran Ericsson; Sean Conroy; Erik Traneus; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fusion; plasma diagnostics; neutron spectrometry; neutron spectroscopy; MPRu; magnetic proton recoil spectrometer; fusion; ITER; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Neutron are emitted from a deuterium plasma with energies around 2.5 MeV. The neutron spectrum is intimately related to the ion velocity distribution of the plasma. As a consequence, the analysis of neutron energy spectra can give information of the plasma rotation, the ion temperature, heating efficiency and fusion power. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Towards High-Throughput Phenotypic and Systemic Profiling of in vitro Growing Cell Populations using Label-Free Microscopy and Spectroscopy : Applications in Cancer Pharmacology

    Författare :Obaid Aftab; Mats Gustafsson; Neil Carragher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :label free vesicle detector; high-throughput; phase contrast microscopy; Library of Pharmacologically Active Compounds; High Content Screening; fluorometric microculture cytotoxicity assay; nuclear magnetic resonance; mass spectrometry;

    Sammanfattning : Modern techniques like automated microscopy and spectroscopy now make it possible to study quantitatively, across multiple phenotypic and molecular parameters, how cell populations are affected by different treatments and/or environmental disturbances. As the technology development at the instrument level often is ahead of the data analytical tools and the scientific questions, there is a large and growing need for computational algorithms enabling desired data analysis. 3. 3. Analysis of organic and inorganic arsenicals in biological material

    Författare :Harald Norin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arsenobetaine; arsenocholine; acetylarsenocholine; pyrolysis gas chromatography; atomic absorption spectrophotometry; mass spectrometry; nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry;

    Sammanfattning : An analytical method for measurement of the urinary metabolites of inorganic arsenic is presented. Increased concentrations of urinary metabolites of inorganic arsenic are indicative of occupational exposure. Organoarsenic compounds in the urine from seafood intake do not affect the analytical results. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Neutron Emission Spectrometry for Fusion Reactor Diagnosis : Method Development and Data Analysis

    Författare :Jacob Eriksson; Göran Ericsson; Carl Hellesen; Sean Conroy; Andreas Dinklage; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fusion; plasma diagnostics; neutron spectrometry; TOFOR; MPRu; tokamak; JET; fast ions; fuel ion density; relativistic kinematics; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Sammanfattning : It is possible to obtain information about various properties of the fuel ions deuterium (D) and tritium (T) in a fusion plasma by measuring the neutron emission from the plasma. Neutrons are produced in fusion reactions between the fuel ions, which means that the intensity and energy spectrum of the emitted neutrons are related to the densities and velocity distributions of these ions. 5. 5. Organic Phosphorus Compounds in Aquatic Sediments : Towards Molecular Identification with Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Heidi De Brabandere; Monica Waldebäck; Emil Rydin; Per J. R. Sjöberg; Rolf Danielsson; William T. Cooper; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrospray ionisation; mass spectrometry; liquid chromatography; organic phosphorus; aquatic sediment; eutrophication; sample preparation; extraction; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphorus (P) regulates trophic status in most aquatic systems. However, only bioavailable P contributes to primary production. In most lakes and shallow seas, mineralisation of sediment P into its bioavailable form and its release to the water column is important for maintaining primary production. LÄS MER
