  1. 1. A Rational Exergy Management Model to Curb CO2 Emissions in the Exergy-Aware Built Environments of the Future

    Författare :Siir Kilkis; Folke Björk; Bahram Moshfegh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Exergy; CO2 emissions; built environment; buildings; energy system; scenario-based analysis; mitigation strategies; net-zero; LEED; energy transition; transition management; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis puts forth the means of a strategic approach to address a persistent problem in the energy system and in this way, to transition the built environment to a future state that is more exergy-aware to curb CO2 emissions. Such a vision is made possible by the six-fold contributions of the research work: I) An analytical model is developed, which for the first time, formulates the CO2 emissions that are compounded in the energy system as a function of the systematic failures to match the supply and demand of exergy. 2. 2. Evaluating energy efficient buildings : Energy- and moisture performance considering future climate change

    Författare :Björn Berggren; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Net Zero Energy Building; passive house; thermal bridge; building envelope; energy performance; moisture performance; multi criteria decision making; climate change; climate scenarios; EN ISO 13789; EN ISO 10211;

    Sammanfattning : One of the greatest challenges the world is facing is climate change. The need of reduction of energy use and an increased use of renewable energy in buildings constitutes important climate change mitigation measures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Planning for Solar Buildings in Urban Environments

    Författare :Jouri Kanters; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; architecture; design tool; design process; solar energy; urban planning; photovoltaics; solar thermal; building integration; density; net zero energy buildings; interviews; parametric studies; action research;

    Sammanfattning : Energy use in buildings accounts for a significant proportion of the total energy use in many countries. While past and current buildings have solely been energy consumers, future buildings will, besides using less energy, also need to produce (part of ) the required energy on site with renewables. 4. 4. Decarbonization of construction supply chains - Achieving net-zero carbon emissions in the supply chains linked to the construction of buildings and transport infrastructure

    Författare :Ida Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Embodied carbon; Buildings; Emissions reduction; Transport infrastructure; Scenario analysis; Low carbon technology; Carbon abatement; Decarbonization; Construction; Supply chain; Carbon mitigation;

    Sammanfattning : Sweden has committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to a net-zero level by Year 2045. In Sweden, about 20% of its annual CO2 emissions are from the manufacture, transport and processing of materials for both the construction and refurbishment of buildings and transport infrastructure. 5. 5. National Energy System Modelling of Industry : Optimising the Transition Towards Carbon Neutrality

    Författare :Erik Sandberg; Anna Krook-Riekkola; Andrea Toffolo; Åsa Lindman; Peter Lund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Industry is a major user of energy and emitter of fossil CO2. At the same time, Sweden targets net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045. Current policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change, and the transition of the energy system it requires, will present major challenges for industry. LÄS MER
