  1. 21. Always on the wing - Fluid dynamics, flight performance and flight behavior of common swifts

    Författare :Per Henningsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Apus apus; aerodynamics; animal flight; kinematics; vortex wake; digital particle image velocimetry; DPIV; common swift; tracking radar; wind tunnel; migration; roosting flight;

    Sammanfattning : The aerodynamics and kinematics behind the flight of animals are relatively unknown. Although animal flight has been studied for several hundreds of years, it is only in recent time that we have the technical abilities to study the mechanistic basis of animal flight. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Shoulder Kinematics and Impingement. Dynamic Radiostereometric analysis of the shoulder

    Författare :Erling Hallström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Shoulder kinematics; Radiostereometry; Impingement; Open surgery; Arthroscopic surgery; Physiotherapy; Clinical outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the three-dimensional kinematics of the shoulder joint in patients with shoulder impingement and controls with focus on three well known diagnostic tests; painful arc test (active abduction), Neer sign (passive elevation) and Hawkins sign. The shoulder rhythm, the speed of motion and if successful treatment of impingement could be associated with changes of the shoulder kinematics were studied Dynamic radiostereometry (RSA) is feasible method to study rotations and translations of the gleonohumeral joint because of its high precision. 3. 23. Seated postural reactions to mechanical shocks : laboratory studies with relevance for risk assessment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders among drivers

    Författare :Tobias Stenlund; Börje Rehn; Ronnie Lundström; Ola Lindroos; Fredrik Öhberg; Rolf Moe-Nilssen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Postural balance; Posture; Electromyography; Musculoskeletal pain; Whole-body vibration; Reliability; Kinematics; Biomechanics; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Professional drivers of off-road vehicles, driving on irregular terrain such as in forestry, agriculture and mining, are exposed to whole-body vibration and mechanical shocks. These driver groups have reported severe musculoskeletal problems in the spine, but the association to seated postural reactions is not fully understood. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Knee function, knee proprioception and related brain activity following anterior cruciate ligament injury

    Författare :Andrew Strong; Charlotte Häger; Eva Tengman; Divya Srinivasan; Eleni Kapreli; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anterior cruciate ligament; knee; proprioception; joint position sense; kinematics; injury prevention; sports; functional magnetic resonance imaging; brain; reliability; validity; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy; Sports Medicine; idrottsmedicin; rehabiliteringsmedicin; Rehabilitation Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Injury of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) may have negative effects on the short- and long-term function and proprioception of the knee joint. However, existing tests of knee function are often sports-related and less relevant for assessment in the very long term and there remains no ‘gold standard’ test of knee proprioception. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Toward a Sustainable Human-Robot Collaborative Production Environment

    Författare :Abdullah Alhusin Alkhdur; Lihui Wang; Gunnar Bolmsjö; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :vision sensor; 3D image processing; collision detection; safety; robot; kinematics; dynamics; collaborative assembly; energy consumption; optimisation; manufacturing; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Sammanfattning : This PhD study aimed to address the sustainability issues of the robotic systems from the environmental and social aspects. During the research, three approaches were developed: the first one an online programming-free model-driven system that utilises web-based distributed human-robot collaboration architecture to perform distant assembly operations.
