  1. 16. Hemostatic disturbances in acute ischemic stroke

    Författare :Elisabeth Rooth; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ischemic stroke;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Stroke is the 2nd most common cause of death after ischemic heart disease. Sammanfattning : Heart failure is the possible end-result of a variety of different diseases, where ischemic heart disease and hypertension are the most common causes in high income countries. In Sweden, heart failure has a prevalence of 2% in the adult population and rises to over 10% among people over 70 years of age. The 5-year all-cause mortality is about 50%. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The human heart and lungs constitute an intricate and dynamic system. Various clinical physiological examinations can be used to evaluate cardio-pulmonary function and identify abnormalities. Thus, it is important to understand how normal physiology presents, to be able to identify pathological findings. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Coronary heart disease incidence and short-term case fatality in relation to socio-economic circumstances - epidemiological and clinical aspects

    Författare :Sofia Gerward; Kardiovaskulär forskning - epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gender; cohort study; epidemiology; socio-economic factors; risk factors; mortality; myocardial infarction; ischemic heart disease; coronary heart disease;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study incidence and case-fatality rate (CFR) of myocardial infarction (MI) and ischemic heart disease (IHD), by exploring relations to socioeconomic position (SEP), other cardiovascular risk factors, medical seeking pattern and time trends. Data from the Malmö Myocardial Infarction Register (1986-1995; n=5533), the Malmö 1990 cohort (1990-2003; n=69 223), the Malmö Preventive Project (19742004; n=33 224) and out-of-hospital IHD deaths in southern Sweden (1992-2003; n=14 347) were used.     Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the study was to evaluate psychosocial variables in patients with ischemic heart disease and the relationships between psychosocial variables and severity and prognosis of disease. Patients with stable angina pectoris and patients with a first myocardial infarction were included, and the evaluations were performed by two different methods. LÄS MER
