  1. 6. Small-Scale Absorbed Dose Modelling in Selective Internal Radiation Therapy : Microsphere Distribution in Normal Liver Tissue

    Författare :Jonas Högberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; clusters; dosimetry; heterogeneity; liver; microspheres; radioembolisation; simulations; SIRT; surgery; yttrium-90;

    Sammanfattning : Radioembolisation (RE), with yttrium-90 (90Y) labelled microspheres, is an increasingly common treatment method for unresectable liver tumours. The tolerable mean absorbed dose for normal liver (NL) tissue is higher in RE than in External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT); absorbed dose heterogeneity is thought to be one important reason, together with a low absorbed dose rate, but the knowledge of microsphere distributions is limited. 2. 7. Small-Scale Dosimetry for the Testis: Applications in Nuclear Medicine Diagnostics and Therapy

    Författare :Suaad Meerkhan; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Testis; 111-In; Autoradiography; Biodistribution; Small-Scale; Monte Carlo; Dosimetry; spermatogonia; gammaH2AX; immunofluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : It is well known that the testicles are among the most radiosensitive tissue, and constitute an important critical target for both external and internal radiation during diagnostic and therapeutic use of radionuclides. In systemic radionuclide therapy where very high activities are administered, the testis may become a dose-limiting organ; often with a complex, non-uniform activity distribution and a resulting non-uniform absorbed-dose distribution. 3. 8. The Importance of Dosimetry and Radiobiology in Nuclear Medicine : Quantitative methods and modelling

    Författare :Anna Stenvall; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear medicine; radionuclide therapy; radiopharmaceutical therapy; dosimetry; Monte Carlo modelling; radiobiology; ; γH2AX; DOTA-TATE; PET; SPECT;

    Sammanfattning : Nuclear medicine uses radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. The ionizing radiation emitted from the radiopharmaceutical is partially absorbed within the patient's body and internal dosimetry is the method to estimate the absorbed dose to a tumour or risk organ. 4. 9. Computational patient models for simulation of dynamic gamma-camera imaging : Application to renography and peptide receptor radionuclide therapy

    Författare :Gustav Brolin; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Nuclear medicine; Gamma camera; Renography; Radionuclide therapy; Internal dosimetry; Pharmacokinetics;

    Sammanfattning : Many nuclear medicine investigations rely on gamma-camera imaging to study and quantify the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or radionuclides in the patient as a function of time. This is typically used for diagnostic studies of physiological functions or for calculation of absorbed doses following radionuclide therapy. LÄS MER

  5. 10. [68Ga]Exendin-4: Bench-to-Bedside : PET molecular imaging of the GLP-1 receptor for diabetes and cancer

    Författare :Ram kumar Selvaraju; Olof Eriksson; Olle Korsgren; Lars Johansson; Martin Gotthardt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PET; [68Ga]Exendin-4; beta cell imaging; insulinoma; dosimetry;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes epidemic is underway. Beta cell dysfunction (BCF) and loss of beta cell mass (BCM) are known to be key events in its progression. Currently, there are no reliable techniques to estimate or follow the loss of BCM, in vivo. LÄS MER
