    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Down syndrome; growth; growth charts; body proportions; growth hormone; thyroid function; metabolism; body composition; cognition; motor development; Downs syndrom; tillväxt; tillväxtkurvor; kroppsproportioner; tillväxthormon; sköldkörtelfunktion; metabolism; kroppssammansättning; kognitiv förmåga; motorisk utveckling; Paediatric medicine; Pediatrisk medicin; pediatrik; Pediatrics;

    Sammanfattning : Down syndrome (DS) is associated with psychomotor retardation, short stature and endocrine dysfunction. Statural growth is a well-known indicator of health. The growth in DS differs markedly from that of other children and there is a 20 cm reduction of final height as compared to target height. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Auxological tools for following growth in extreme short stature and for evaluating growth promoting interventions

    Författare :Andrea Merker; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Growth charts are inevitable tools for following children in clinical practice and also when evaluating growth promoting therapy. Growth is a concern especially for families to children of extreme short stature such as in skeletal dysplasias but evaluations of growth pattern with changes in height position is complicated when height develops far below normal population range. 3. 3. Growth and morbidity in extreme preterm born infants

    Författare :Eva Horemuzova; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Rapid development in neonatal care during the past years has significantly improved long-term survival of extreme preterm born (EPB) infants creating a population of children with a high frequency of disabilities. Being lighter and shorter, as compared to full-term (FT) born child, predisposes the EPB infants to intensive nutritional interventions aiming for growth-promoting effect. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; Preterm birth; small for gestational age; low birth weight; anthropometry; socioeconomical factors; birth weight; genital infections; intrauterine fetal death; symphysis-fundus height; fetal growth; gestational diabetes; HbA1c; syphilis; intervention; malaria; sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine; Mozambique;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim was to monitor pregnancy for improved perinatal outcome in Mozambique A cohort of 817 Mozambican pregnant women were followed from their first antenatal clinic visit to the end of the perinatal period in two suburban/semirural antenatal clinics in Maputo.     Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Iterative receiver; channel estimation; multi-user detection; OFDM; MIMO; IDMA; complexity; EXIT chart; channel measurements.;

    Sammanfattning : The traffic in wireless networks has been showing an exponential growth over the last decade. In order to meet the demand, and support a continuation of this growth, the scarce radio resources need to be efficiently used. LÄS MER
