  1. 16. Integration of logistics network in local food supply chains

    Författare :Techane Bosona; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The demand for locally produced food is increasing as global food supply system has considerably affected the confidence of consumers by increasing tonne-kilometres, food safety risk, environmental impact, and disconnecting local food producers and consumers. However, local food suppliers are not in the position to compete with large scale food supply systems due to high logistics costs. LÄS MER

  2. 17. A Representation Scheme for Description and Reconstruction of Object Configurations Based on Qualitative Relations

    Författare :Heike Joe Steinhauer; Erik Sandewall; Alexander Klippel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Qualitative Reasoning; Spatial Reasoning; Cognitive Modeling; Human-Machine Interaction; Coarse Reasoning; Artificial Intelligence; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : One reason Qualitative Spatial Reasoning (QSR) is becoming increasingly important to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the need for a smooth ‘human-like’ communication between autonomous agents and people. The selected, yet general, task motivating the work presented here is the scenario of an object configuration that has to be described by an observer on the ground using only relational object positions. 3. 18. An Operations Research Approach for Daily Emergency Management

    Författare :Niki Matinrad; Tobias Andersson Granberg; Jan T. Lundgren; Anna Fredriksson; Melanie Reuter-Oppermann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Emergency services play a vital role in society by providing help to affected people and minimizing damage to public and private assets as well as the environment during emergencies. However, these organizations deal with problems of increasing demand uncertainty and resource shortage over time. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Performance Measures of Road Infrastructure - A Life Cycle Thinking Approach

    Författare :Babak Ebrahimi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road infrastructure; Life Cycle Assessment LCA ; Lifetime Estimation; Geographic Information System GIS ; Life Cycle Thinking LCT ; Material Flow Analysis MFA ;

    Sammanfattning : Roads have been an important asset of human society and the approach we adopt towards planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining of the road infrastructure has significant consequences in the long-term for not only the humans, but all species on planet Earth. Hence, the lifecycle performance of the road infrastructure that sustain our socioeconomic development with a low environmental impact, while fulfilling their technical and functional requirements is of critical importance and needs to be improved. 5. 20. From Art Galleries to Terrain Modelling --- A Meandering Path through Computational Geometry

    Författare :Mikael Hammar; Data Vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; system; numerisk analys; Datalogi; systems; control; numerical analysis; Approximation Algorithms; Computational Geometry; Online Algorithms; Art Gallery Problem; Linear Search; Traveling Salesman Problem; R-Tree; Delaunay Triangulation; Polygon Exploration; Computer science; Shortest Watchman Routes; kontroll; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : We give approximation and online algorithms as well as data structures for some well studied problems in computational geometry. The thesis is divided into three parts. In part one, we study problems related to guarding, exploring and searching geometric environments. LÄS MER
