  1. 21. ATMP Process : Improved Energy Efficiency in TMP Refining Utilizing Selective Wood Disintegration and Targeted Application of Chemicals

    Författare :Dmitri Gorski; Per Engstrand; Jan Hill; Lars Johansson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ATMP; TMP; Hydrogen Peroxide; Magnesium Hydroxide; Mechanical Pre-Treatment; Fibre Characterisation; Refiner Bleaching; SC Paper; Newsprint; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on the novel wood chip refining process called AdvancedThermomechanical Pulp (ATMP) refining. ATMP consists of mechanical pretreatmentof chips in Impressafiner and Fiberizer prior to first stage refining atincreased intensity. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Low consistency refining of mechanical pulp : process conditions and energy efficiency

    Författare :Stefan Andersson; Per Engstrand; Christer Sandberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical pulping; low consistency refining; energy efficiency; rotor position; plate gap; fibre concentration;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis is focussed on low consistency (LC) refining of mechanical pulp. Theresearch included evaluations of energy efficiency, development of pulpproperties, the influence of fibre concentration on LC refining and effects of rotorposition in a two-zoned LC refiner. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Modelling Damage Evolution and Fracture of Paper Materials

    Författare :Rickard Hägglund; Hållfasthetslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Paper material; Fracture mechanics; Tensile strength; Fibre network; Continuum damage mechanics; Non-local theory;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains six papers dealing with different aspects of damage and fracture in paper. The work addresses the problem of material length scales in the context of deformation and fracture of paper materials. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Strength grading of structural timber and EWP laminations of Norway spruce : Development potentials and industrial applications

    Författare :Jan Oscarsson; Anders Olsson; Marie Johansson; Hans Joachim Blass; SE-351 96 Växjö Videum Science Park SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden SP Wood Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fibre angle; grain angle; knots; laser scanning; machine strength grading; modulus of elasticity; side boards; strain; structural timber; wet gluing; wood; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Machine strength grading of structural timber is a sawmill process by which considerable value is added to sawn products. The principle of such grading is that the strength of a timber member is predicted on the basis of a so called indicating property (IP) which, in general, represents an averaged value of the modulus of elasticity (MOE) measured over a board length of about one meter or more. 5. 25. Effects of Steel Fibres on Cracking in Reinforced Concrete

    Författare :Anette M Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; uniaxial tension test; Keywords: Self-compacting; characteristic crack width; fibre-reinforced; bond; tension stiffening; Digital Image Correlation; pull-out test;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTAlthough it is well known that fibre reinforcement acts as a crack arresting agent, there is still a need for deeper knowledge of the actual cracking behaviour, especially regarding cracks with widths smaller than 0.3mm. LÄS MER
