  1. 6. The power of action and knowledge in episodic memory for school-aged children

    Författare :Farzaneh Badinlou; Reza Kormi-Nouri; Monika Knopf; Agneta Herlitz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Episodic memory; action memory; enactment effect; subject-performed tasks; experimenter-performed tasks; verbal tasks; school-aged children; memory strategies; information processing;

    Sammanfattning : Developmental and cognitive research suggests that there are age-related differ-ences in children’s episodic memory across school ages due to the development of knowledge, which in turn affects memory strategy use and information pro-cessing over time. However, there are controversial findings related to devel-opmental patterns and factors involved in children’s episodic memory function. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Prior Knowledge and Recognition Memory : a Computational Modeling Approach

    Författare :Johan Hellman; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Recognition memory; Episodic memory; Pre-experimental familiarity; Event-Related Potentials; Item variability; Receiver-Operating Characteristics; Computational Models;

    Sammanfattning : For more than a century, an immense interest has been devoted to the study of recognition memory, where a multitude of memory phenomena has been explained. Recognition memory is usually described with parsimonious measurement and statistical models, stemming from dual process theory and signal detection theory. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Daily life after Subarachnoid Haemorrhage : Identity construction, patients' and relatives' statements about patients' memory, emotional status and activities of living

    Författare :Elisabeth Berggren; Birgitta Sidenvall; Dennis Larsson; Ann Langius Eklöf; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAH; Stroke; Pain; Memory; Decisions; Meaning-making; Identity-construction; Psychological sequelae; Emotional status Social life; P-and I-ADL; Memory tests; Interviews; Questionnaire; Medical sciences; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe patients’ experience and reconstruction regarding the onset of, and events surrounding being struck by a Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (SAH), and to describe patients’ and relatives’ views of patients’ memory ability, emotional status and activities of living, in a long-term perspective.Methods: Both inductive and deductive approaches were used. 4. 9. Cross-functional brain imaging of attention, memory, and executive functions : Unity and diversity of neurocognitive component processes

    Författare :Petter Marklund; Lars Nyberg; Akira Miyake; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Human memory; executive functions; prefrontal cortex; sustained and transient neural activity; declarative long-term memory; attention; working memory; functional neuroimaging; cognitive control.; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The central theme of the present thesis revolves around the exploration of similarities and differences in brain activity patterns invoked by the component processes underlying mnemonic, executive and attentional functions. The primary aim was to identify and functionally characterize commonly recruited brain regions in terms of shared component processes, which has been a largely neglected area of research in cognitive neuroscience. 5. 10. Child and Adult Witness Event Memory Reporting and Metamemory Capabilities : Social Aspects and Legal Professionals’ Opinions

    Författare :Jens Knutsson; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Probes; Repeated recall; Forensic interviewing; Eyewitness; Confidence; Event memory; Metamemory; Free recall; Focused questions; Feedback; Legal professionals; Beliefs; Opinions;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation focuses on aspects of the social context of child and adult eyewitness memory reports, along with their relation to report accuracy and metamemory performance. More specifically, it investigates the effects on memory reports and metamemory judgments of i) receiving feedback from co-witnesses, ii) being probed for further eventmemory reports, and iii) retelling eventmemory contents.
