21. Growth and optical properties of III-V semiconductor nanowires: : Studies relevant for solar cells
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with epitaxial growth and optical properties of semiconductor nanowires with implications and insights about materials for solar cells. The chapters leading up to the papers give a broader background and an introduction to the field and include nanowires and their synthesis, semiconductor properties, solar cell operational principles, light interaction with a nanowire array, and optical characterization of such arrays. 22. Modelling of Formation and Evolution of Defects and Precipitates in Fe-Cr Alloys of Reactor Relevance
Sammanfattning : Fe-Cr alloys form the basis of many industrially important steels. Due to their excellent resistance to radiation induced swelling, ferritic steels are expected to be used for critical structural components in advanced nuclear systems, such as fast breeder reactors, accelerator driven systems and fusion reactors. 23. Optical Studies of Polytypism in GaAs Nanowires
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor nanowires are often regarded as having potential to be building blocks for novel applications. Their geometry allows defect-free combinations of materials that have a high degree of lattice mismatch. III-V semiconductor nanowires can also be grown in the wurtzite crystal phase, which is not stable in bulk material or thin films. LÄS MER
24. Magnetooptical properties of dilute nitride nanowires
Sammanfattning : Nanostructured III-V semiconductors have emerged as one of the most promising materials systems for future optoelectronic applications. While planar III-V compounds are already at the center of the ongoing lighting revolution, where older light sources are replaced by modern white light LEDs, fabricating such materials in novel architectures, such as nanowires and quantum dots, creates new possibilities for optoelectronic applications. 25. Studies on Selected Topics in Radio Frequency Digital-to-Analog Converters
Sammanfattning : The network latency in fifth generation mobile technology (5G) will be around one millisecond which is much lower than in 4G technology. This significantly faster response time together with higher information capacity and ultra-reliable communication in 5G technology will pave the way for future innovations in a smart and connected society.
