  1. 1. Emergence and Dynamics of Circular Economy Ecosystem

    Författare :Ida Eyi Heathcote-Fumador; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Digital Technologies; business ecosystem; circular economy ecosystem; ecosystem renewal; residual resources; strategy; knowledge appropriation; management;

    Sammanfattning : The circular economy ecosystem (CEE) offers the potential to effectively manage the pressing issue of residual resources, encompassing waste and by-products that pose a challenge to our planet. Among various organizational forms, the ecosystem approach has emerged as the preferred method, fostering cross-industry collaboration to sustainably address residual resources. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Local institutions, biological conservation and management of ecosystem dynamics

    Författare :Johan Colding; Paul Cox; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systems Ecology; systemekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyze local institutions and management practices related to natural resources and ecosystem dynamics, with an emphasis on "traditional ecological knowledge" systems. Papers I, II and III analyze ‘resource and habitat taboos’ (RHTs) with the objective to synthesize knowledge about informal institutions behind resource management. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Rowing social-ecological systems: morals, culture and resilience

    Författare :Jacob von Heland; Carl Folke; Sverker Sörlin; Paul Sinclair; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resilience; culture; moral; complex social-ecological systems; southern Madagascar; Planetary Boundaries; naturresurshushållning; Natural Resources Management;

    Sammanfattning : The shift from management and governance of ecosystems to relational complex adaptive social-ecological systems (SES) emphasizes a dynamic and integrated humans-in-nature perspective. Such a shift also needs to investigate how diversity and differences in cultures and morals relate to the existence of SES. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Essays on Land Lease Markets, Productivity, Biodiversity, and Environmental Variability

    Författare :Mintewab Bezabih; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; JEL-codes: C7; C21; C35; C61; C88; C93; D00; D2; Q02; Q12; Q15; Q29; Q51;

    Sammanfattning : Paper 1: Tenure Insecurity, Transaction Costs in the Land Lease Market and Implications for Gendered Productivity Differentials This study assesses the link between land leasing behavior and productivity differentials between male and female-headed households. A double-moral hazard model allows us to show that the landlord’s tenure insecurity leads to a sub-optimal level of effort on the tenant’s part, via its impact on the likelihood of contract renewal. 5. 5. Instrumentation, Control and Automation in Anaerobic Digestion

    Författare :Jing Liu; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; ICA; automation; control; monitoring; biosensor; instrumentation; anaerobic digestion; biogas;

    Sammanfattning : Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a biochemical process in nature. It has been used to decompose organic waste in order to reduce environmental pollution, and to destroy pathogenic microorganisms for the protection of human and animal health. The process itself produces methane, which can then be used as an energy source. LÄS MER
