  1. 1. Ultrasonic testing of components produced with additive manufacturing : Towards improved detection and classification of defects

    Författare :Mikael Sahl; Håkan Wirdelius; Erik Lindgren; Oskar Tofeldt; Madis Ratassepp; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Non-Destructive Testing NDT ; Super alloys; Microstructure; Ultrasonic Testing UT ; Productivity Enhancement; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The focus in this work is on the use of ultrasonic testing as a method for inspecting components manufactured through additive manufacturing (AM) processes. The research is rooted in the need for effective non-destructive testingtechniques that can adapt to the unique challenges posed by AM-produced materials, including complex defect geometries and surface conditions. 2. 2. Macro-Geometric Defects, A numerical and experimental study of springback and surface defects

    Författare :Alf Andersson; Industriell Produktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Simulation; Sheet-metal forming; Finite element analysis; Information exchange; Springback; Surface defects; Drawbead; Process analyse; Optimisation; materialteknik; Materiallära; Material technology;

    Sammanfattning : Today, shortened lead-times in the automotive industry have dramatically increased the need for more efficient development methods at every stage of the process development chain. In order to decrease the long lead-time for producing a forming tool, sheet-metal-forming simulation was introduced. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Detection and classification of internal flaws in laser powder bed fusion: application of in-situ monitoring for quality control of Hastelloy X builds

    Författare :Claudia de Andrade Schwerz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; melt pool; productivity; flaw detection; nickel-based superalloy; powder bed fusion; lack of fusion; spatter; defects; Additive manufacturing; process monitoring; pores;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing technologies, in particular laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), have received much attention in recent years due to their multiple advantages over traditional manufacturing. Yet, the usage of additively manufactured products is still quite limited, mainly due to two factors: the low repeatability, which is particularly relevant for applications where high performance is required from the materials, and the typically low productivity, particularly relevant for products with a substantial production volume. 4. 4. Predictive Modelling to Support Design and Manufacturing in Aerospace Engineering

    Författare :Siva Krishna Dasari; Abbas Cheddad; Lars Lundberg; Stan Matwin; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; surrogate modelling; defects classification; machine learning; aerospace; additive manufacturing; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : A crucial issue in the design of aircraft components is the evaluation of a large number of potential design alternatives.  This evaluation involves too expensive procedures, consequently, it slows down the search for optimal design samples. LÄS MER

  5. 5. An Algorithmic Framework for Intelligent Concrete Structural Defects Detection and Classification

    Författare :Ali Mirzazade; Björn Täljsten; Cosmin Popescu; Thomas Blanksvärd; Diogo Rodrigo Ferreira Ribeiro; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Civil Engineering Structures; defect detection; Structural Health Assessment; Bridge Inspection; Computer Vision; Point-Cloud Generation; Severity Assessment; Machine Learning Regression; Bridge 3D Modeling; Unmanned Inspections; Byggkonstruktion; Structural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The primary objective of inspecting concrete civil structures is to gather information concerning the deterioration of concrete elements, including issues like concrete cover cracking, delamination, or corrosion. Typically, this data is documented through field inspection notes, hand-drawn sketches, and photographs. LÄS MER
