26. Post-Harvest Losses, Intimate Partner Violence and Food Security in Tanzania
Sammanfattning : High levels of food losses occurring after harvesting offset the effort to increase food production. This situation increases the risk of food insecurity and low incomes among smallholder farmers. LÄS MER
27. On Gate Drivers for MOS-Controlled Power Devices and dv-dt Filters for Train Traction Converters
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, low-loss gate-drive solutions and a proposed dv/dt-filter have been investigated with focus on train traction converters with dv/dt constraints.By using the silicon carbide (SiC) junction field-effect transistor (JFET), the switching losses can be significantly reduced compared to the commonly used insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), but complex gate-driver solutions are required for high utilization in terms of loss reduction. 28. Planning and evaluation of autonomous vehicles in freight and public transport services
Sammanfattning : The introduction of automation technology in transport systems brings both opportunities and challenges. The direct benefits of automation technology are obvious, for instance, reduced marginal driving cost, improved energy efficiency and increased safety. LÄS MER
29. Optimization of track geometry maintenance : a study of track geometry degradation to specify optimal inspection intervals
Sammanfattning : Railway infrastructure is a complex system which comprises different subsystems. Long useful life span is one of the important aspects of this prime mode of transport. The useful life length of its assets is highly dependent on the maintenance and renewal strategy used during its life cycle. LÄS MER
30. Using False Alarms when Developing Automotive Active Safety Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis develops and tests an empirical method to quantifying drivers’ level of acceptance for alerts issued by automotive active safety systems. The method uses drivers’ subjective level of acceptance for alerts that are literally false alarms as a measure to guide the development of alerting criteria that can be used by active safety systems.
