1. On Gate Drivers for MOS-Controlled Power Devices and dv-dt Filters for Train Traction Converters
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, low-loss gate-drive solutions and a proposed dv/dt-filter have been investigated with focus on train traction converters with dv/dt constraints.By using the silicon carbide (SiC) junction field-effect transistor (JFET), the switching losses can be significantly reduced compared to the commonly used insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), but complex gate-driver solutions are required for high utilization in terms of loss reduction. 2. Control and Design Aspects of Components and Systems in High-Voltage Converters for Industrial Applications
Sammanfattning : High-frequency dc-dc converters are widely used in power electronic applications, both in consumer products and industrial products. By operating the converter at higher frequencies both a smaller size and better control characteristics can be obtained. LÄS MER
3. Quasi Resonant DC Link Converters - Analysis and Design for a battery Charger Application
Sammanfattning : Environmental aspects have during the last years made electric vehicles an interesting competitor to the present internal combustion engine driven vehicles. For a broad introduction of pure electric vehicles, a battery charging infrastructure is deemed necessary. However, to build and maintain such an infrastructure is costly. LÄS MER

5. Modeling and Control of Voltage Source Converters Connected to the Grid
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the modeling and control of pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source converters connected to the grid. When voltage source converters are connected to the grid, the power quality and the dynamic performance are affected by the line filter connected between the converter and the grid, and by nonlinearities caused by the switching converter.
