21. On Scalable H-infinity Control
Sammanfattning : Many of the classical approaches to controller synthesis do not scale well for large and complex systems. This is mainly due to computational complexity and the lack of distributed structure in the resulting controllers. LÄS MER
22. Approximation of topology optimization problems using sizing optimization problems
Sammanfattning : The present work is devoted to approximation techniques for singular extremal problems arising from optimal design problems in structural and fluid mechanics. The thesis consists of an introductory part and four independent papers, which however are united by the common idea of approximation and the related application areas. LÄS MER
23. Biomechanical assessment of head and neck movements in neck pain using 3D movement analysis
Sammanfattning : Three-dimensional movement analysis was used to evaluate head and neck movement in patients with neck pain and matched controls. The aims were to further develop biomechanical models of head and neck kinematics, to investigate differences between subjects with non-specific neck pain and whiplash associated disorders (WAD), and to evaluate the potential of objective movement analysis as a decision support during diagnosis and follow-up of patients with neck pain. 24. Surface Engineering in Sheet Metal Forming
Sammanfattning : In recent years, surface engineering techniques have been developed in order to improve the tribological performance in many industrial applications. In sheet metal forming processes, the usage of liquid lubricants can be decreased by using self lubricated tribo surfaces which will result in more environmentally friendly workshops. LÄS MER
25. Measurement Variability Related to Insulin Secretion and Sensitivity : Assessment and Implications in Epidemiological Studies
Sammanfattning : There is a growing interest in random measurement variability of biological variables. In regression models, such variability of the predictors yields biased estimators of coefficients (regression dilution bias). LÄS MER
