16. Potential Flow Panel Methods for the Calculation of Free-surface Flows with Lift
Sammanfattning : Two non-linear Rankine-source panel methods are developed and implemented in the same computer code. The first method uses a four-point upwind operator on the free-surface to compute the velocity derivatives and to enforce the radiation condition while the second method uses an analytical expression for the velocity derivatives and a collocation point shift one panel upstream to prevent upstream waves. 17. Some computational aspects of the boundary collocation method for linear partial differential equations and related questions
Sammanfattning : Many problems of Applied Mathematics can be formulated as linear partial differential equations for which a complete set of particular solutions is explicitly known. Solving these problems by the boundary collocation method means that one seeks an approximate solution in the form of a linear combination of particular solutions. LÄS MER
18. Delexical Verb + Noun Collocations in Swedish and Chinese Learner English
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the use of delexical verb + noun collocations such as have no doubt, make a decision and give a speech in Swedish and Chinese learner English. The aim of the study is to investigate interlanguage (IL) developmental patterns as well as the role of L1 influence in the learners’ use of such collocations. LÄS MER
19. Grey-box Identification of Distributed Parameter Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers the problem of making dynamic models for industrial processes by combining physical modelling with experimental data. The focus is on distributed parameter systems, that is, systems for which the model structure involves partial differential equations (PDE). Distributed parameter systems are important in many applications, e. LÄS MER
20. Determination of Land uplift in Areas not covered by Repeated Levellings with application to South-Norway
Sammanfattning : The fennoscandia post glacial uplift rate of today, the time averaged vertical velocity, is usually determined by mareographs and repeated leveling. We consider situations where parts of the levelling not are observed only once. LÄS MER
