  1. 1. Short Pulses in Engineered Nonlinear Media

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Stefan Holmgren; KTH.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nonlinear optics; KTiOPO4; frequency conversion; mode-locked lasers; ultra-fast lasers; visible lasers; short pulses; ultrafast nonlinear optics; diagnostic applications of nonlinear optics; nonlinear optical materials; NATURAL SCIENCES Physics; NATURVETENSKAP Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Short optical pulses and engineered nonlinear media is a powerful combination. Mode locked pulses exhibit high peak powers and short pulse duration and the engineered ferro-electric KTiOPO4 facilitates several different nonlinear processes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Nonlinear Beam Physics

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University , Department of physics

    Författare :Benjamin Folsom; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2019-03-30]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nonlinear dynamics; Beam dynamics; Accelerator Physics; space charge; Accelerator magnets; simulations multi-particle dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : A condensed treatment of conventional beam physics (both linear and nonlinear) is given for the non-expert; this constitutes a minimum knowhow for constructing simulations of rudimentary beamlines. The criteria for an ideal nonlinear charged-particle simulation algorithm are then presented, leading to the derivation of a symplectic, explicit, Lorentz-covariant integrator. LÄS MER

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University , Department of physics

    Författare :Björn Hall; [2005]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nonlinear Schrödinger equation; incoherent solitons; partial incoherence; nonlinear wave interaction; Gross-Pitaevskii equation; modulational instability; collective dynamics; Wigner transform; nonlinear guided waves; Bose-Einstein condensation;

    Sammanfattning : Selected aspects of various types of nonlinear wave interaction are investigated. These aspects are studied in terms of models described by Nonlinear Schrödinger equations, mainly analytically and numerically, but also experimentally. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Methods for Simulation and Characterization of Nonlinear Mechanical Structures

    Detta är en avhandling från Karlskrona : Blekinge Institute of Technology

    Författare :Martin Magnevall; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nonlinear dynamics; nonlinear parameter estimation; harmonic balance; reverse-path; zero-memory nonlinear systems; hysteretic nonlinearities; dry-friction; geometric nonlinearities;

    Sammanfattning : Trial and error and the use of highly time-consuming methods are often necessary for modeling, simulating and characterizing nonlinear dynamical systems. However, for the rather common special case when a nonlinear system has linear relations between many of its degrees of freedom there are particularly interesting opportunities for more efficient approaches.
