  1. 26. Ionic transport of α-alumina below 1000°C : an in-situ impedance spectrosocpy study

    Författare :Johan Öijerholm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; α-alumina; in-situ impedance spectroscopy; molecular dynamics; spark plasma sintering; conductivity; microstructure; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Ionic conductivity of metal oxides is critical for the function of a broad range of different components, such as electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells and alloys designed for high temperature applications. In both cases the ionic conductivity can be studied by in situ impedance spectroscopy, which is also able to reveal information on the dielectric properties of the metal oxides, and in some cases the influence of their microstructure. Sammanfattning : Perovskites are a large family of versatile materials with favourable properties for spintronics and optoelectronics applications. The mineral CaTiO3 defines the archetypal crystal structure of perovskite materials with a general composition ABX3. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Ordering in Crystalline Short-Chain Polymer Electrolytes

    Författare :Anti Liivat; Joseph Nordgren; Josh Thomas; Daniel Brandell; David Brown; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Atomic and molecular physics; polymer electrolytes; molecular dynamics; ionic conductivity; crystalline ordering; polymer chain length; smectic; nematic; Atom- och molekylfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolytes are the most obvious candidates for safe "all-solid" Li-ion batteries and other electrochemical devices. However, they still have relatively poor ionic conductivities, which limits their wider adoption in commercial applications. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The search for alternate and renewable energy resources as well as the efficient use of energy and development of such systems that can help to save the energy consumption is needed because of exponential growth in world population, limited conventional fossil fuel resources, and to meet the increasing demand of clean and environment friendly substitutes. Hydrogen being the simplest, most abundant and clean energy carrier has the potential to fulfill some of these requirements provided the development of efficient, safe and durable systems for its production, storage and usage. 5. 30. Pre-biotic molecules and dynamics in the ionosphere of Titan : a space weather station perspective

    Författare :Oleg Shebanits; Jan-Erik Docent; Ingo Müller-Wodarg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Saturn; Titan; Ionosphere; Langmuir Probe; Space and Plasma Physics; Rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Sammanfattning : Saturn’s largest moon Titan (2575 km radius) is the second largest in the Solar system. Titan is the only known moon with a fully developed nitrogen-rich atmosphere with ionosphere extending to ~2000 km altitude, hosting complex organic chemistry. LÄS MER
