6. Paper-composite porcelain : characterisation of material properties and workability from a ceramic art and design perspective
Sammanfattning : Paper-composite porcelain is a type of paper clay which is made by combining any kind of porcelain with paper. Paper is added to clay to improve low green strength and plasticity - two of the main practical problems of working with porcelain. LÄS MER
7. Crystallization in Constrained Polymer Structures : Approaching the Unsolved Problems in Polymer Crystallization
Sammanfattning : The knowledge regarding certain issues in polymer crystallization e.g. the possible existence of short–lived mesophases remains inconclusive due to experimental limitations. Polymers undergo chain folding upon crystallization, which introduces some complications that are not found in crystallization of low molar mass materials. LÄS MER
8. Cryo-electron tomography of individual protein molecules
Sammanfattning : Averaging methods of determining structure, such as X-ray diffraction, do not preserve information about the flexibility of molecules. Cryo-electron tomography allows us to reconstruct individual hydrated objects. LÄS MER
9. ZrN based Nanostructured Hard Coatings : Structure-Property Relationship
Sammanfattning : Ever since the hard coatings have been introduced, there has been a constant push for better mechanical properties, which motivates for deeper understanding of the microstructure-mechanical properties correlation. The aim of this thesis is to extend the knowledge on how microstructural variation influences the deformation, fracture and wear behavior of ZrN based nanostructured coatings. LÄS MER
10. NH3-SCR chemistry for NOx abatement: Influence of zeolite support on N2O formation & phosphorus species addition
Sammanfattning : Different lattice arrangements of Si, Al, and O atoms result in a variety of pore dimensions and zeolite channel network systems, giving rise to different physicochemical environments inside the catalyst cage. The objective of the thesis work was to understand the influence of zeolite topology on NH3-assisted SCR chemistry over CHA, MFI, and BEA frameworks, on the formation of N2O and the addition of phosphorus species to attain fundamental insight into NOx emission control.
